From Panther Davis (Bar Mitzvah 5/13):

For my Bar-Mitzvah Kindness Project I chose to support two animal shelters - ROAR in Ridgefield and PAWS in Norwalk - by gathering supplies, raising funds, and volunteering.

Here's how to support my project:

If you’re local, drop off ANY animal supplies to my large box in the front entrance at Temple B’nai Chaim in Wilton, CT. any business hours from April 1st to May 15th – after which I will pick up the boxes with my family and deliver them to the above shelters!

Please click here for more information!

TBC Fights Antisemitism

TBC now has a formal "Kulanu / Antisemitism Working Group." A special Shabbat-Speaker Program was held at TBC April 21 (see the complete slide set here). Planning is ongoing for a local community outreach program that will bring together other faith-based organizations, community leaders, and members of the public. Contact Bonnie Heft for additional information.

Special TBC Laundry Love Donation

The TBC Social Action Team and Sisterhood recently donated $1,200 to Laundry Love of Greater Danbury. (Thank you letter here!)

Laundry Love helps people who are struggling financially to clean their clothes and linens on a regular basis by providing prepaid laundry cards for the White Street Wash laundromat in Danbury. It also delivers clean clothes and bedding when possible. The effort is a collaboration involving TBC and other faith and community-minded organizations from Danbury and surrounding towns. See more about TBC Social Action Programs ....

It is traditional to light a memorial candle at home on the eve of the yahrzeit. You may also find it meaningful while kindling the yahrzeit candle to offer prayers of remembrance or reflect on your loved one’s life. Many also choose this time to make monetary donations in memory of loved ones

Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques

When remembering loved ones who have passed away, we invite you to commemorate their lives and blessings with a memorial plaque for the TBC wall of remembrance. Ordering information is available here.
