From Panther Davis (Bar Mitzvah 5/13):

For my Bar-Mitzvah Kindness Project I chose to support two animal shelters - ROAR in Ridgefield and PAWS in Norwalk - by gathering supplies, raising funds, and volunteering.

Here's how to support my project:

If you’re local, drop off ANY animal supplies to my large box in the front entrance at Temple B’nai Chaim in Wilton, CT. any business hours from April 1st to May 15th – after which I will pick up the boxes with my family and deliver them to the above shelters! Some of the most requested items from shelters and pet pantries (where those in need can continue to care for their animals even when times are tough) are: Wet and dry dog and cat food, Leashes, Collars, Harnesses, Cat Litter , Cat toys & healthy treats, Dog toys (Kong / balls) and dog treats, Gift cards (Petco, Costco etc), Litter Pans, Dog and Cat beds, and many more items you will see on the wishlists below. Online shopping and financial support is also welcome. Please click here for more information!

TBC Fights Antisemitism

From Bonnie Heft: This past week we honored Yom HaShoah (the anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising) with a brief Shabbat service followed by a presentation and Q & A on Antisemitism Here and Now. (For those interested, the complete slide set from Friday is available here.

The good news is that TBC and its Social Action Antisemitism and Hate Group has joined ADL’s new initiative Kulanu. Kulanu empowers synagogues across the US and Canada (there are 11 Kulanu cohorts in CT) by providing not only Education on Antisemitism, but astounding guidance and resources to enable member synagogues to educate their congregants and the wider communities they serve. Twelve new congregants have joined our eight-member Antisemitism / Kulanu Action group. If you'd like to join the action group as well, as it moves forward with its educational and community outreach programming, please contact coordinator Bonnie Heft at batyaclara@aol.com. Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques

When remembering loved ones who have passed away, we invite you to commemorate their lives and blessings with a memorial plaque for the TBC wall of remembrance. Ordering information is available here.
