Morah Tikvah Ellis

The first pasuk of this week’s parsha is puzzling. If you read it carefully, the words do not appear to be in order. The pasuk says:

And he called to Moshe

And Hashem said to him

From the Tent of Meeting.

That phrasing is not what you would expect.

The Giraffes have been busy all week learning all about the mitzvot of Purim. They joined with the rest of the ECC to make hamantaschen for their Mishloach Manot as well! Today, they took a break from all of the Purim learning to go play in the "spring" snow!

Despite the frigid temperatures this week, GOTR (Girls on the Run) is off to a wonderful start ! GOTR is for elementary school girls in grades 2 - 5. and is a transformational physical activity based positive youth development program. This week the girls discussed how Queen Esther was actually a GOTR! and how she had to use all of her strengths to save the Jewish people. Thank you Coach Lisi, Coach Rebecca Skocyzlas and Coach Margi Weinberg!

Welcome to Israel!! Our 6th graders in Morah Tamar’s class studied different places in Israel - ים המלח, באר שבע, מצדה, and more! They then prepared posters describing the different cities and presented them to the entire 6th and 7th grade. They all enjoyed pita and toppings at the end!! Great job 6th grade and תודה רבה Morah Tamar!!

On Taanit Esther, our High School students joined a worldwide special prayer assembly and a mass recitation of the Shema which took place at the Kotel as Jews from all over the world came together to daven for the return of the hostages and for the well being of IDF Soldiers. Tehillim were recited as well as other various tefilot. May all of our prayers be answered.
