YOM HASHOAH SPEAKER

What an unbelievable privilege it was to hear from Survivor Mrs. Toni Korman( mother of Dr. Howard (and Michal) Korman and grandmother to the Korman boys) this week for Yom Hashoah V’Hagevurah. Her story of survival was harrowing and incredibly inspirational…. And provided everyone with so much to think about and be grateful for

ALL ABOUT ME

The Teddy Bears in Morah Sarah’s class are studying “All About Me.” They are learning about what makes people the same and what makes people different and how that is how you build community!! This week the Teddybears looked at themselves in the mirror and made self- portraits!!

MAP OF ISRAEL

Using maps and Google maps, our 3rd graders in Rabbi Ellis’ class filled in major cities, water sources and regions on blank Israeli maps…. ים התיכון, ים המלח, ים סוף, ירושלים, רמות הגולן, נגב, צפת, חיפה, etc…. Getting ready for Yom Ha’Atzmaut!

TEKES MAAVAR

Our Middle Schoolers have been working very hard on their participation for the Tekes Maavar from Yom HaZikaron to Yom HaAtzmaut. Whether participating in Daglanut, the choreographed Israeli flag dance reading or singing, our students are active participants.

YOM HASHOAH

We Remember. This Week for Yom Hashoah v’Hagevurah, our Middle and High Schoolers participated in a beautiful and moving ceremony sharing stories of people who fought so hard to hold onto their Yiddishkeit in the face of such horrors. We are inspired by them and their resiliency and always maintain Tikvah. While appreciating the blessing of the State of Israel, we always remember. Special thanks to Rabbi Moshe and Shayna Davis, Yael and Rachel and our IVRIT Department for all their work on this Tekes.
