The School Directory can be found HERE.

We’re excited to welcome new students to Farber! Spread the word to families who might be interested in joining our community or let us know HERE if there is a family who we should reach out to. New students may apply by clicking HERE.

We look forward to spotlighting our new teachers and families over the coming weeks!

WELCOME MRS. MB!

Brucha Habaah to Rachel Matzkin- Bridger, our new ESS Teacher! Mrs. MB grew up in Detroit, loves the Detroit Tigers and spending time with Ari and Tali, her kids. She is excited to be part of the Farber community and excited to get to know the Farber students!

Sam and Jenna Englender are the parents of Maya (K), Esti (Nursery 3), and Akiva (Toddler class).

On Sundays you can find them taking trips to the library and hanging out with grandparents. The Englenders are excited about their kids making friends and growing their passion for Torah and Jewish life at Farber.

Aliza and Ira Tick are the parents of Gavi (Nursery 2) and baby Ari. Aliza is an Akiva alumna! The Ticks are very excited for Gavi to be in a Jewish environment. He loves Torah, Shabbos, and tzedaka and it's so amazing to know that he's in an environment that will nurture those interests.

The Tick family likes to take "adventures" to different attractions, to make breakfast and eat as a family and to visit Bubbie and Zayde.

Liat and Yaniv Feldman are the parents of Ori (11th grade) and two daughters, Noga and Hadar.

Bruchim HaBaim to the Benezras, the Federmans, the Fischers, the Jacobs, the Shoshanis, the Weisses, The Yusufovs!

HA'AZINU - SHABBAT SHUVA

Morah Tikvah Ellis

In the second pasuk of Parshat Ha’azinu, Moshe compares the Torah to precipitation:

Let my teaching drip like rain,

let my words flow like dew,

like droplets on new-growth,

like showers on grass.

-Devarim 32:2

Torah is often compared to water, because just as anything living needs water to live, the Jewish People need Torah to live. But how is Torah like rain or dew, specifically?

SCIENTIFIC METHOD

Our Elementary School students have been learning about the Scientific Method in Ms. McCollum’s Science class. First, you Ask a question. What do you think will happen? Then you

develop a test or experiment wondering how will you test your hypothesis. Finally, you form a conclusion.

The question many of the classes were asking was: Does the number and size of hoopers effect the hooper flyer?

What do YOU think?

CONVECTION, CONDUCTION OR RADIATION

Conduction? Convection? Radiation? What kind of heat transfer takes place when you: stir fry vegetables? You feel the heat from a campfire? A spoon in the cup of soup feels warmer? 6th graders in Mr. Wolowiec’s Earth Science class first had the opportunity to decide on their own or with a partner into which category each fit and then they voted with their feet as a class!

MASECHET SUKKAH

Rabbi Nemes’ BMP Gemara class is studying Masechet Sukkah this year… however today the discussion became more הלכה למעשה when students were asking him real questions that came up as they were helping build Sukkot for people in the community.
