Shayna Davis

Over the last week, I’ve unfortunately taken part in 2 Zoom Shiva’s, the Shiva of HaRav Na’aran Eshchar z”l and of Uriyah Mash z”l, the husband of one of my high school teachers. Throughout both there were two common themes that repeatedly surfaced. The first was that neither Uriyah nor HaRav Na’aran were obligated to go to reserve duty, but that didn’t stop either of them from immediately running to join their former units the second they realized that our nation was in danger. The second common idea was that they each left such a positive, lasting impression in this world; while they may no longer physically be with us, their impact and Torah lives on stronger than ever.
