Cost: $5,949 + $140 annual digital textbook subscription
Prerequisites: 18 years of age, clear criminal history, HS diploma or equivalent, or current graduating H.S. senior, with knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Word. All applicants must be interviewed.

DEGREE OPTION:
Medical Assisting Associate in Applied Science
The Associates in Applied Science, Medical Assisting Option is designed to provide college level education and preparation to students who wish to enter the field of Medical Assisting. This degree program is an extension of the career-track certificate offered through the continuing education department. Graduates of the A.A.S. degree program are also issued a certificate in Medical Assisting. Upon completing the program, students are eligible to sit for the CMA examination offered through the American Association of Medical Assistants. This medical assisting degree program prepares students for positions as medical assistants in physicians' offices and other outpatient and ambulatory care facilities. The A.A.S. in Medical Assisting is a terminal degree; however, general education courses may be transferred to a 4-year institution. Students may choose to continue in the field of Nursing, Health and Hospital Care Administration, or a variety of other allied healthcare programs.

CERTIFIED PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIAN | |

This 90-hour comprehensive, instructor-led program consists of 90 classroom hours, including a blended, simulated lab to achieve thirty (30) venipunctures and ten (10) capillary sticks. Students must bring volunteers.
The course includes medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, blood collection, specimen transport and processing, infection control and safety, quality control, confidentiality, and communication skills. Upon successfully completing this program, the student is eligible for national certification by NHA (certification fee $117).
Prerequisites: 18 years of age, HS diploma or GED, a statement of health from a physician due the first day of class, proof of health insurance, fluid-resistant lab coat, and clear criminal background.
NOTE: Each student MUST be able to provide adequate volunteers (18 yrs. and above) to achieve and complete the clinical skill requirement of thirty (30) venipunctures and ten (10) capillary sticks to satisfactorily pass the course and be eligible for national certification through NHA.

This 50-hour program will prepare students to work as a pharmacy technician in a retail or other pharmacy setting and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s PTCB exam. This course will include an optional 80-hour externship at a retail pharmacy. The students are responsible for additional fees for a background check, drug test, TB test, and NJ registration fees to partake in the externship.
Prerequisites: Strong basic math skills, 18 years of age, HS diploma or GED, and clear criminal background.

AND FIRST AID

Heartsaver® First Aid, CPR, AED, is a classroom video-based, instructor-led course. Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first-aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use.

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals (Nurses, CNAs, EMTs, DT, etc.) the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings.
