MARKET RATES

Mortgage Interest Rates remained at nearly the same levels as seven days ago with the Mortgage Backed Security (MBS) market trading down -1 bps.

The biggest market mover last week was the PCE report on Friday. Inflation numbers were in line with expectations with Year over Year Inflation going from

2.5% to 2.7%

And core inflation remaining at

2.8%

This Wednesday, we had the FED Meeting, no one expected the FED to lower the Federal Funds Rate this week and holding true, they maintained their current rate. Most believe the FED will not drop rates until as soon as September or even November of 2024.

If we want interest rates to improve based on the BLS Jobs Report, we want to see lower job creation than what is estimated and the unemployment rate to go higher.
