Odenton, MD. – The Central Maryland Chamber is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Dewan Clayborn as its new President & CEO. Mr. Clayborn will assume leadership on May 6, 2024.
A seasoned organizational leader, with a passion for fostering economic growth, Mr. Clayborn brings a wealth of experience to the chamber. After a successful career in management at Sam's Club and Target, he transitioned into the chamber of commerce sector in 2015. Most recently, he served as President & CEO of the League City Regional Chamber of Commerce (LCRCC) near Houston, Texas.
During his tenure at LCRCC, Mr. Clayborn spearheaded remarkable growth: membership surged by over 800 new members, financial reserves increased significantly, and they achieved a four-star accreditation, placing the organization among the top 3% of chambers nationally.
Mr. Clayborn holds a strong educational background, including a degree in Business Administration and various certifications in management, chamber of commerce leadership, social justice, and nonprofit leadership. This multifaceted expertise makes him uniquely qualified to guide the Central Maryland Chamber into a prosperous future.
