A seasoned leader with three decades of professional experience, John Bruckner brings a unique energy-industry perspective to the AERTC Advisory Board. The president of National Grid’s New York business leverages a long career in electric generation and distribution (including engineering, operations and project-management experience), highlighted by executive gigs at the Long Island Power Authority and National Grid, which he joined in 1985. As head of National Grid’s New York operations, he leads business units that deliver electricity to 1.6 million upstate New York customers and natural gas to 2.3 million others across the state – giving him unparalleled access to the newest and most progressive clean-energy technologies. The Island resident and U.S. Merchant Marine Academy graduate earned a master’s degree in business administration from the New York Institute of Technology and currently serves on the boards of the Long Island Association, the Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center, the New York Smart Grid Consortium and other influential regional organizations.
