More than a decade after serving as chairman and CEO of KeySpan Corp. and chairman of National Grid U.S., Bob Catell remains an iconic innovator and sustainability leader.
He currently fills two critical energy-related roles, as chairman of Stony Brook University’s Advanced Energy Research and Technology Center and chairman of the National Offshore Wind Research and Development Consortium, which leverages a $20 million U.S. Department of Energy grant and a matching NYSERDA grant with other public and private resources from several states.
Mr. Catell also serves as chairman of Cristo Rey Brooklyn High School and chairman of the Futures in Education for Brooklyn and Queens endowment fund.
The former head of Brooklyn Union and KeySpan’s Energy Delivery division also serves on the boards and advisory boards of several businesses and organizations – including the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, the Long Island Association, Gold Coast Bank, Applied DNA Sciences, the New York City Police Foundation, and the National Petroleum Council – and is a past chairman of the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, the American Gas Association, the Partnership for New York City and the U.S. Energy Association.
