CEBIP will continuously work towards the development of a successful clean energy economy on Long Island, with the ultimate goal of creating new jobs and making a strong economic impact here in New York.
ADVISOR 411 - Our Board
Kevin Law

President and CEO, Long Island Association
Since becoming its president and CEO in 2010, Kevin Law has made the Long Island Association one of New York State’s most respected business organizations.

Focused on economic development and strengthening Long Island as a place to live, work and do business, Law is a key strategist and advocate on local, state and federal matters impacting the regional business community, and has helped secure more than $5 billion in Long Island infrastructure investments.

Law also serves as co-chairman of the Long Island Regional Economic Development Council and chairman of the not-for-profit Long Island Housing Partnership, while holding several high-profile regional board seats.

He was recently appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority as well as appointed as chair of the Stony Brook University council and recently led the search for the new Stony Brook University president. In 2014, Cuomo selected Law to chair the New York State Gaming Facility Location Board, and in 2015 the governor tapped him to sit on the Fix NYC Advisory Panel.

Before joining the LIA, Law was president and CEO of the Long Island Power Authority, the country’s second-largest public utility, after serving as chairman of the LIPA Board of Trustees. During his tenure at LIPA, he was a member of the Large Public Power Council, a national organization uniting the largest municipal energy companies.

He has also served as chief deputy Suffolk County executive; managing partner of Nixon Peabody LLP’s Long Island office, where he was a member of the Energy and Environment Practice Group; director of real estate for the Suffolk County Department of Law; and assistant Suffolk County executive for planning, housing and environmental affairs.

Throughout his career, Law – who earned a bachelor’s degree at Stony Brook University, a CUNY master’s degree (urban affairs and planning) and a JD from the St. John’s University School of Law – has demonstrated leadership in energy efficiency and renewable technologies. Among other efforts, he launched the largest public-utility energy-efficiency program in the nation, helped to procure the largest solar energy project in New York State and formed an offshore-wind collaborative with Con Edison and the New York Power Authority.
