POWER PLAYERS - Our Partners
The Manufacturing and Technology Resource Consortium (MTRC) is the Empire State Development Corp.’s Long Island regional Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) center and one of 10 statewide MEP centers. Since 2017, the MTRC has provided R&D, training, workforce-development and product-line revitalization services to more than 240 small to mid-sized manufacturing companies earning supplemental awards (modifying previous grants) – part of a statewide MEP program that helped create or retain 5,300-plus jobs and generate more than $180 million in new capital investments in 2018 alone. The MTRC aims to connect with qualified manufacturers across Long Island to increase their core competence and otherwise promote business development.

ADVISOR 411 - Our Board
Few professionals understand New York State energy issues better than Richard Kessel, who served nearly three years as president and chief executive officer of the New York Power Authority, the nation’s largest state-owned electric utility, and two terms as chairman of the Long Island Power Authority Board of Trustees. A former executive director of the New York State Consumer Protection Board, the graduate of New York University and Columbia University, was appointed chairman of the Nassau County Industrial Development Agency and Nassau’s Local Economic Assistance Corp., the county’s nonprofit support system, in 2018. As chairman, Kessel works closely with regional and state economic-development agencies to promote Nassau County’s socioeconomic welfare.
