The Long Island High Technology Incubator (LIHTI) is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to helping technologically innovative companies grow by leveraging resources and relationships at Stony Brook University.
 
It is the second-oldest business incubator in New York State, with a long track record of supporting successful company maturation. Recent successes include multiple acquisitions as well as an IPO. At LIHTI, companies focused on life sciences, clinical research and biotechnology development find an unparalleled opportunity for scalable wet laboratory, light manufacturing and office space. They can also take advantage of the deep collaborative research, core facility and educational capabilities of Stony Brook University.
 
The LIHTI team is passionate about supporting and guiding entrepreneurs and leadership teams in creating practical development pathways for their ventures. LIHTI is proud to have supported nearly 200 companies during its history, helping to create market value in the multiple billions of dollars.
Jigar Shah
Director of the Loan Programs Office, U.S. Department of Energy
Jigar Shah was most recently co-founder and President at Generate Capital, where he focused on helping entrepreneurs accelerate decarbonization solutions through the use of low-cost infrastructure-as-a service financing.

Prior to Generate Capital, Shah founded SunEdison, a company that pioneered “pay as you save” solar financing. After SunEdison, Shah served as the founding CEO of the Carbon War Room, a global non-profit founded by Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Unite to help entrepreneurs address climate change. Originally from Illinois, Shah holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois-UC and an MBA from the University of Maryland College Park.

Doreen Harris

President and CEO, NYSERDA

Doreen M. Harris is the president and CEO of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), a public benefit corporation that advances innovative energy solutions to improve New York State’s economy and environment.

Ms. Harris has held public and private sector leadership roles advancing clean energy projects and engineering companies for more than 20 years.
During her 10 years of public service, she has held executive, technical, and policy positions at NYSERDA. Most recently, as Vice President of Large-Scale Renewables, she oversaw the State’s nation-leading advancement of renewable resources under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act, including the development of offshore wind. Before embarking on a career in public service, Ms. Harris spent more than a decade in the energy sector, serving in management and engineering roles.
Ms. Harris earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Rochester and a Master of Business Administration from the University at Albany.
