As New York City-based senior partner, Paul A. DeCotis leads West Monroe’s East Coast Energy & Utilities practice, including some of the nation’s most innovative and comprehensive grid-modernization projects. Specializing in advanced grid analytics, he helps some of North America’s largest private and public utilities digitize operations and increase customer value, while assisting private equity firms conducting commercial diligence of potential energy-technology acquisitions.
A former Long Island Power Authority vice president of power markets, Paul is a frequent speaker at national conferences centered on regulatory reform and technological advancement. An active AERTC Advisory Board member, he was instrumental in securing early AERTC funding.
Paul spent 26 combined years as an adjunct faculty member at numerous prestigious institutions and has held – or currently maintains – leadership positions on several influential boards, including the Delta Institute of Chicago, the National Academy of Science’s Board of Energy and Environmental Systems, the U.S. Offshore Wind Collaborative, the Association of Energy Services Professionals and the Clean Energy States Alliance. He also serves on the editorial boards of the Wiley Climate and Energy Journal and the Springer Energy Efficiency Journal.
A chairman of the NYS Energy Planning Board under two governors, the oft-published energy-tech expert was featured in Montclair Publishing’s “Who’s Who in North America” and was named as top New York-based influencer as one of City & State’s “Responsible 100 Honorees.”
