May 30, 2024

Dear Providence,

June is the perfect opportunity for Fairfax County to embrace its diversity. This month is filled with activities and events celebrating the vibrant communities that make Fairfax County unique as we recognize June as Pride Month and Immigrant Heritage Month.

The Board of Supervisors will designate June 2024 as LGBTQIA+ Pride Month in Fairfax County to reaffirm our commitment to support and celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community fully. My office is committed to the One Fairfax Policy, a declaration that all residents deserve an equitable opportunity to succeed regardless of their race, color, sex, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, disability, income, or where they live. Community members are invited to celebrate Pride all month long in the County and surrounding jurisdictions. You can see a list of Pride events below.

The Board will also designate June 2024 as Immigrant Heritage Month in Fairfax County to honor and celebrate the courage, culture, and countless contributions of immigrants who have lived and continue to live in our community. This is a time to reflect on the generations of immigrants from different parts of the world who have helped shape Fairfax County's history and continue to help define our future. A series of events will be held Countywide including cultural performances, art exhibits, and storytelling sessions that showcase the rich heritage of our immigrant community.

With gratitude,

Celebrate Pride Month
