Dear Esteemed Subscribers,
It has been one month since the discriminatory Caste Bill SB403 in California was vetoed by Governor Newsom. We commemorate the hard fought victory which was won by grassroots mobilization, as much as advocacy work by our teams.
Our Advocacy work with SB403 and Beyond!
Castefiles not only participated in advocacy meetings with senators and congressmen, but our websites Castefiles.com and Castegate.org were regular reference for every single lawmaker as well as our volunteers. Please donate generously to support our ongoing efforts to dissolve the colonial caste tropes.
We will carry the torch not just in the hallowed corridors of power in New Jersey where it is cropping up now, but also in the educational and awareness building campaigns across the United States
The advocacy process in California has brought one resounding message – Yes there is justice and Truth does triumph! It is heartening to note that Governor Newsom was able to see the SB403 Caste bill for what it really was – a discriminatory target on the back of Indian Americans. SB403 was an unnecessary burden on the taxpayers, because as Governor Newsom stated in his reasons for the veto – existing law is adequate and adding ‘Caste’ to the Civil Rights Act is superfluous.
Important Articles from our Desk!
We cover important articles to highlight the veto resulting in the California triumph. Now, onward to New Jersey!
