2016 YES GRADUATES
A Salute to Our Graduates!
We are excited to share the success of our YES Scholars who continue to be victorious in their studies. On June 2nd, 2016 we celebrated the major higher education milestone achievements of our graduates, community college transfer students and all 137 YES scholars who are pursuing their college dreams.
At the celebration, John Paul Campbell, YES Graduate from the University of Puget Sound, shared his courageous journey from Guatemala City to Los Gatos at 2 month old. His tumultuous experience in an adoption placement sent him into Foster Care. While he experienced challenges in the Child Welfare System, he made a permanent life connection to a caring foster family and was successful in accomplishing his higher educational dreams with the support of YES! "I want to thank the Silicon Valley Children's Fund for giving me the opportunity to reach my goal of finishing school with the support of the YES Scholarship.
I want to congratulate the class of 2016 on all of your hard work. WE DID IT! For the rest of you still making your way, your time will come! It is worth all of the ups and downs. Thank you so much for letting me share my story, never give up!"
