Celebrate diversity, inclusion and love! June is Pride Month, and while we celebrate our LGBTQIA+ neighbors all year, it's a special time of year to champion inclusion and wellness for LGBTQIA+ community members. Below you will find staff pick booklists, events and links to community partners.

SUMMER LEARNING IS HERE!

The Summer Learning Challenge engages youth, families and adults by challenging them to read, explore new activities and learn new skills all summer long. Also, summer is a great time for library events! In addition to all our regular programs, beginning June 25, you can find performers on Tuesdays at Magical Bridge, Wednesdays at Redwood Shores Branch Library and Saturdays at the Downtown Library. Below is a snapshot of summer programs coming soon - save the dates!

BIKE RODEO // RODEO EN BICICLETA

Join us Saturday, June 8 for Bike Rodeo: a fun celebration of bicycling and other active ways of getting around town.

NEWS FROM THE FRIENDS

Are you Spring cleaning? Friends of the Redwood City Public Library are in need of pre-loved children’s books!

 

The Friends raise funds for library programs by selling your book donations. Friends is in tremendous need of children’s book donations. Your book donations help fund such programs as the Summer Learning Challenge (for adults too!), Crafty Wednesdays, Little Learners and Traveling Storytimes.

Our next donation event is happening on Saturday June 15 from 10am-12pm behind the Downtown Library & in the Redwood Shores Branch Library parking lot. Find more information here

Young scientists explore different aspects of chemistry! Once a month, join members of the ACS and take part in hands on experiments. For ages 9-12. This program will take place in the Makerspace.
