St. Michael Post 1562 - Catholic War Veterans and Auxiliary of the USA (C.W.V.) is spearheading the “Target CT for T2T” campaign during the month of September 2024. Target CT for T2T is a grassroots fundraising project to which your donation will be earmarked specifically for any T2T initiative conducted in the state of Connecticut for First Responders and Veterans. In other words, your donation will be used locally in Connecticut rather than going into the general fund for T2T projects. This campaign will kick-off in earnest next month in the “Naugatuck Valley” towns of Derby, Shelton, Ansonia and Seymour, but the campaign is active and already accepting donations online.

Although St. Michael’s Post 1562 & Auxiliary has established this campaign with the T2T Foundation, we are asking individuals, organizations, and businesses like yours to run any type of fundraising event for  “Target CT for T2T.” Then make your donation directly to T2T using the “Target CT for T2T” QR code below or using the link: https://dogood.t2t.org/campaign/target-ct-for-t2t-2024/c607677

Making your donation directly to this campaign on the T2T site insures that each individual, organization or business will receive the appropriate tax-deductible recognition by the T2T Foundation.  St. Michael’s Post 1562 & Auxiliary will not handle your donation unless you request us to do so.

This is a grassroots campaign, so as the word about “Target CT for T2T” spreads throughout, and beyond the Naugatuck Valley, there will be an unlimited number and ways for which individuals, organizations and businesses across the state of Connecticut can fund raise. A list of suggested ideas can be found on the reverse side of this letter which you might consider. No amount is too little; many individuals donating “a little” will yield a generous contribution to the cause.

In addition to several city officials, many veteran posts, first responders, motorcycle clubs and civic organizations have already responded favorably in support of this undertaking. We hope you will join us to fund raise and make a donation to the “Target CT For T2T” campaign during the month of September.

The Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation has proven its vital support for Veterans, First Responders and their families.  More importantly 95.1% of every dollar goes to the T2T mission.

Thank you for your anticipated help to fund raise for the “Target CT for T2T” campaign.

St. Vincent DePaul: "Take a Chair to Show You Care" Fundraiser; "Out for Art" Sept. 24 at Brass Works Brewing Company

St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury is partnering with the Arts & Culture Collaborative, Waterbury Region to host a “Take A Chair To Show You Care” fundraiser and “Out for Art” at Brass Works Brewing Company. The team is seeking individuals interested in reinventing chairs for the “Take A Chair” fundraiser to benefit the St. Vincent DePaul Thrift Store. Participants are being asked to transform a chair, either from the Thrift Store or self-procured, into a piece of art.  All entries are due by September 20.  Everyone, from professional artists, crafters, students, teachers or business owners, is invited to participate. Chairs can be obtained from the SVDP Thrift Store at no cost to participants during regular business hours. The Chairs will be on display for the public at an Out for Art Event on Tuesday, September 24th from 5pm – 8pm at Brass Works Brewing Company located at 2066 Thomaston Avenue in Waterbury. $10 Event Donation Fee includes one free raffle ticket. The event will consist of the outdoor gallery with live music, cash bar, food for purchase and the raffle/auction. Proceeds will go directly towards services provided by the St. Vincent DePaul Mission Thrift Store.

Visit www.SVDPmission.org for the entry form and ticket information.

Upcoming Events at the Mattatuck Museum

Mattatuck Museum is excited to announce the opening of “Menagerie” on exhibition by Colombia-born, Miami based artist Federico Uribe on Sunday, September 8, 2024 from 11 AM to 4 PM. Opening remarks will be given by Museum Director, Bob Burns, and Chief Curator, Keffie Feldman, at 1 PM. The exhibition will be on display through December 31.

Federico Uribe creates immersive and playful installations by using everyday objects in surprising and engaging ways, by using clever concepts juxtaposed with mundane objects. Inspired by nature, he creates ironic 2D sculptures by turning books into trees, shoes into elephants, bullets into foxes, and so on, creating sculptures out of repurposed objects, like colored shoelaces and pins, electrical wires, ties, and plastic waste.

The Museum is offering reduced admission of $5 for the day. Register online at mattmuseum.org/calendar or by calling (203) 753-0381 x130.

Mattatuck Museum invites the community to celebrate the end of summer at the Museum with an evening surrounded by friends, music, and plenty of heavy hors d’oeuvres. As summer draws to a close, celebrate the season with an exquisite evening designed to indulge the senses while supporting the museum’s mission. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy premium wine, beer, and liquor tastings as well as sample unique food pairings on Thursday, September 19 between 5:30 and 8 PM.

Tickets are $100 and $125 for Patron Tickets. Patron Tickets will include acknowledgement in the event program. Tickets are available for purchase now at mattmuseum.org/calendar.

For more information about the event or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Jennifer Johnston, Interim Director of Development, at (203) 753-0381 x110 or jennifer@mattmuseum.org
