DON'T MISS NAMPA'S FIREWORKS DISPLAY TONIGHT!
For the second year, the City of Nampa is hosting fireworks to celebrate our nation's Independence Day holiday - the fireworks are set off near the Ford Idaho Center around 10:15 p.m. on Wed., July 3 - fun for the entire family!
The God & Country Festival, which has been happening in Nampa for nearly 60 years, is also on July 3 (gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the event starts at 6:30 p.m.) and while the event itself is free, parking at the Ford Idaho Center is $5.

Independence Day is a time we, as Americans, not only pause to celebrate our nation's independence but the everyday heroes who stood up for what they believed and fought for the freedoms they held to be self-evident.
As stated in the Declaration of Independence, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
As shared below, the Nampa Fire Protection District honored several people at Monday's council meeting who stepped forward to save the lives of two individuals experiencing a serious medical situation at the Harward Recreation Center. Nampa is extremely blessed to have such amazing individuals living in our community...truly, you are all heroes!

At Monday night's council meeting, the Nampa Fire Protection District recognized two groups of people who stepped forward recently to help save lives at the Harward Recreation Center.
On March 27, Harward Recreation Center staff and patrons were alerted of a patron who was unconscious and not breathing. Jessica Vanderpool (aquatic Supervisor), Eric McMullen (head lifeguard), and J Baker (fitness trainer) performed CPR and John Burke was on with the 911 dispatcher. Staff administered quality CPR efforts and utilized the AED kept on site while EMS crews responded. Upon arrival, EMS crews assumed care. The efforts paid off and the patient regained pulses on scene. The patient was transported to a local hospital for definitive care and released with a full recovery. Their efforts helped save his life and the patient, Mr. Holden, was in attendance to thank those involved:

The second incident happened on May 28. Harward Recreation Center staff and patrons were alerted of a patron who was unconscious and not breathing. Naomi Averett (lifeguard), Lerida Casanova-Gilbert (fitness trainer), and a patron named Flor Juarez performed CPR, while patron James Wisler was on the 911 call. Staff and patrons administered quality CPR efforts and utilized the AED kept on site while EMS crews responded. Upon arrival, EMS crews assumed care and transported the patient. Their cumulative efforts kept the patient viable until definitive care could be administered at a local hospital. The patient, Mr. Gaona, made a full recovery and was also in attendance to share his appreciation with:

FY2025 BUDGET APPROVAL PROCESS | |

Next week the City of Nampa is hosting a budget workshop with Nampa City Council on July 11-12 where council members will hear a presentation on the proposed budget, ask questions and have discussion. The public can attend in public or watch online. The July 12 date is held as a possible second day, if needed. For a full schedule, see the graphic below or on the website.

PLAN AHEAD // The intersection of North Franklin Boulevard and East Karcher Road will be under construction as crews begin work on a new roundabout. The Idaho Transportation Department and Local Highway Technical Assistance Council will manage the project.
Utility work has started in the area in preparation for the roundabout construction. Drivers can anticipate intermittent lane restrictions and flaggers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily. Expected traffic impacts include lane restrictions and potentially partial and full closures.
Drivers are encouraged to use Northside Boulevard during construction. The construction will be phased to minimize disruption for drivers. The city will provide updates on closure through social media channels and the project website cityofnampa.us/projects.
This project is anticipated to be finished by the end of November and will provide enhanced pedestrian crossings, street lighting to illuminate the roundabout and crossings, as well as improved traffic flow.
| | Middleton Road will be CLOSED from Karcher Rd to Caldwell Blvd from July 8-19 due to utility installation for a development project. Local access will still be available from Hailey Ave to Caldwell Blvd. Plan your routes accordingly and please allow for extra travel time during this period. | |

From ITD: Treasure Valley motorists SH-16 construction will require overnight closures on I-84 between the Garrity (Exit 38) and Ten Mile (Exit 42) Interchanges and an extended closure at the McMillan/McDermott intersection.
Here's what's ahead:
- WB I-84 will be closed on Monday, July 8th from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- EB I-84 will be closed on Tuesday, July 9th from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Motorists will be detoured to Franklin Road.
The intersection of McMillan and McDermott roads in Meridian will be closed starting July 8 until mid-August. For more information and detour routes, click here.
