May 1, 2024

Dear Friends and Partners:

May has always resonated with me as a pivotal time of year—a home stretch leading us into the sunlit months of summer. But May isn't just about the thrill of speed and competition. It's a month dedicated to honoring the commitment of mothers worldwide. Mother's Day allows us to celebrate the most challenging and rewarding job there is. The role of a mother, marked by leadership, compassion, and grace, sets a stellar example of how we should guide and support those around us, whether in our personal lives or professional environments.

In my work, I draw inspiration from these maternal qualities, striving to embody them in every project and relationship I nurture. Mothers teach us about the strength in kindness and the power of patience—essential qualities as we navigate the home stretches and the fresh starts that life presents.

May also brings moments of solemn reflection as we approach Memorial Day. It's a time to honor and remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. Their bravery allows us peace and security and enables us to enjoy the beauty of May and all its new beginnings. We owe it to them to pause, reflect, and express our gratitude for the liberties we so often take for granted.

Here's to a month of reflection, celebration, and new beginnings. Let's make it a May to remember, filled with success and achievements. I'm excited to see where our next practice of success will lead, and I invite you to reach out and join us on this journey.

LESSONS FROM THE MONTANA MEDICAL GROUP MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION CONFERENCE

Last month, I had the distinct honor of speaking at the Montana Medical Group Management Association’s (MTMGMA) annual conference, aptly themed "From Surviving to Thriving." This theme alone speaks volumes about the progressive mindset of this gathering of healthcare professionals. It reflects a robust understanding of their challenges and a proactive desire to transcend them by embracing change and new methodologies.

During my sessions, I shared various anecdotes and lessons learned from my leadership experiences. The engagement and thoughtful responses were not just affirming, but they also played a crucial role in the learning process. If there was a valuable nugget in my stories, I am confident this group of motivated professionals will mine it and use it to forge their next practice. Read more of my reflections.

Book me to speak at your upcoming conference, where I can share 30+ years of experience leading all kinds of teams—as a trauma nurse in the Air Force to emergency management.
