Surrounded by friends, family, classmates and instructors, the School of Medicine Class of 2018 waited excitedly on Match Day as the seconds ticked down before they could finally tear open the envelopes that would reveal the locations of their residencies.

Patrick and Gregory Downing, DO, PhD, discussed "Social Impact Investment and America's Health" at the March 14 talk, hosted by the Department of Health Systems Administration at NHS. 


After a screening of a documentary about the founding of the NGO Partners in Health, Kim participated in a discussion about ways to solve global health challenges. 

While Georgetown students were on spring break, about 150 high school students and teachers from 26 local schools came to campus for the Junior Science and Humanities Symposium for the greater Washington metropolitan area.


 




Amber Robins, MD, a health and media fellow in the department of family medicine at Georgetown University and PBS Newshour, has been named one of the 2018 40 Under 40 Leaders in Minority Health by the  National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF). She will be recognized at the 2018 NMQF Leadership Summit on Health Disparities Gala Dinner on April 17.

Toiletry and Feminine Hygiene Product Drive for Homeless Women
The Complementary and Alternative Medicine Program community service team is collecting feminine hygiene products and toiletries such as toothpaste, lotion, mouthwash, and soap for homeless women in Washington, DC. Donations can be left in drop-off boxes located at the ground level main entrance of Dahlgren Memorial Library and the Basic Science Building, Room 239. The donation deadline is Wednesday, March 28. A five-member team of Georgetown students won first place in the Migrants and Refugees category at VHacks, a Vatican event seeking technological innovation to overcome social barriers and address global problems, for creating a mobile website designed to help refugees obtain long-term housing.
