Poythress joins ranks of Distinguished Alumni

A Carrollton High School Class of 1987 graduate motivated by a desire to excel in finance and business was honored for his accomplishments by being named the 20th recipient of the Carrollton High School Distinguished Alumni Award, presented April 18 during the CHS 38th annual Academic Achievement Awards program at the Mabry Center for the Arts.

Antoine Poythress’s humble beginnings in Carrollton and his remarkable career achievements stand as a testament to his dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment to excellence.

CHS senior Drew Johnson awarded AJC Cup

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Cup is awarded to an outstanding Carrollton High School senior who has demonstrated leadership ability, good attitude, citizenship and high levels of achievement throughout school and community activities. This year Drew Johnson was presented this top honor at the 38th annual Academic Achievement Awards Program held April 18 at the Joshua Mabry Center for the Arts.

Carrollton High School senior Clara Pullen received one of the first Trojan Memorial Scholarships in honor of Mrs. Teresa Morgan. The award was presented at the CCS Education Foundation scholarship breakfast on April 16 at City Station. Thirty-nine CHS seniors receive CCS Education Foundation

The Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation celebrated its 2024 scholarship awards at the third annual scholarship breakfast on April 16 at City Station. Students, parents, and donors gathered to recognize 39 students who received awards.

CHS senior Jordan White receives Tim Bone Award

Carrollton High School senior Jordan White was presented the Tim Bone Scholastic Athlete Award at the 38th annual CHS Academic Awards program April 18 at the Joshua Mabry Center for the Arts. The award has been presented annually since 1971 by members of the Class of 1966 in the memory of their classmate to a student who captures Tim Bone’s academic, athletic and leadership qualities.

Kicking off senior celebrations

Carrollton High School seniors are not far from the finish line with various celebrations and traditions underway! For more than a decade now, one tradition continues to garner smiles, prompt tears and lead to tight hugs of affection and support — senior letters written by family and friends. Students received their letters this morning after their senior breakfast.

Nine Carrollton High School students have been recognized as Georgia Scholars, marking the largest number of qualifiers by any high school in the state. The recipients are Madelynn Cook, Shawn Dong, Andrew Johnson, Edward Kenyon, Autumn Martin, Sophia Morales, Tyler Ou, Kai Remshagen, and Robert Wilson.

Nine CHS students qualify as Georgia Scholars

Nine Carrollton High School seniors, set to graduate in May, have been recognized as Georgia Scholars by the Georgia Department of Education. They are among an elite group of 177 students statewide.

Teachers receive Apple awards at CHS Honors Night

Carrollton High School projected honor graduates presented Apple Awards to Carrollton City Schools teachers at CHS Honors Night. These students gave apples teachers who impacted them the most while in school. Congratulations to all the teachers who received apples this year!
