Celebrating business at the Aiken Chamber

The Aiken Chamber’s Member Appreciation Cookout and Mini-Trade Show was held Friday, May 19. The event was an opportunity to

  • celebrate our growing membership
  • celebrate all that business does to invest in our community and create jobs
  • celebrate the variety of goods and services available here, and
  • celebrate the excitement at the Aiken Chamber.

Bridgestone, who is celebrating 25 years of manufacturing in Aiken County, was the presenting sponsor of the event and gave away two sets of tires. C&C Automotive sponsored the hot dog tailgate, and Breezeline was the premier sponsor.

Exhibitors from 44 Chamber member businesses were showcased, and Chamber President/CEO David Jameson was often heard saying, “It’s a great day for business in Aiken, South Carolina.”
Exploring the power of unlikely friendships in business
As women continue to redefine and reshape the business landscape, it's important to explore the multitude of ways in which collaboration and unlikely friendships can catalyze success. Taking inspiration from the remarkable bond between Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart, we invite you to join us at the upcoming Women in Business luncheon being held at Newberry Hall, Thursday, June 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This engaging and thought-provoking presentation will be presented by Carmen Landy. She will shed light on the benefits of unexpected partnerships and how they can empower women in our community and in the business world.

“On the surface, the pairing of an iconic rapper and a renowned lifestyle expert may seem unlikely. However, the partnership between these two exemplifies the remarkable outcomes that can be achieved through embracing differences and stepping beyond conventional boundaries,” said Landy. “Their unique friendship has not only captured the public's attention, but the collaboration has also produced profitable business ventures for both brands.”

Landy will delve into the ways in which you can leverage your distinct backgrounds, skills, and perspectives with others to mutually enhance their personal and professional lives. Through engaging anecdotes and insightful analysis, Landy will explore the ways in which you can embrace differences and use them as catalysts for growth, innovation, and business success and how women in business everywhere can learn from their example.

Event attendees will have the opportunity to:

1. Embrace Differences: Find the power of all types of diversity and the benefits that arise from working with individuals who have different perspectives and skill sets. Discover how diversity can fuel creativity, expand horizons, and drive success.

2. Overcome Stereotypes: In a world where stereotypes and preconceived notions often cloud judgment, this presentation will emphasize the importance of looking beyond surface-level differences and recognizing the untapped potential that lies within unlikely alliances.

3. Foster Innovation: Explore how collaboration can pave the way for innovative business ventures, demonstrating that combining diverse talents and passions can lead to groundbreaking opportunities.

4. Expand Networks: Building strong professional networks is essential for success. Learn how forging connections with individuals from diverse backgrounds can broaden your horizons and open doors to new opportunities.

5. Find Inspiration: Discover how the Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart partnership can serve as a source of inspiration, motivating you to seek out unconventional collaborations and forge meaningful connections that can elevate your business and personal life.

The Women in Business event promises to be an enlightening and empowering experience, offering valuable insights into the world of unlikely friendships and their immense potential in shaping successful businesses.

Don't miss this opportunity to be inspired, learn, and network with individuals who are passionate about challenging norms and driving positive change.

Join us for a delicious lunch June 22 at Newberry Hall and discover how the powerful synergy of seemingly contrasting personalities and skill sets can unlock new doors to success in the business world. Together, we will celebrate the spirit of collaboration and embrace the possibilities that lie beyond traditional boundaries.

The cost to attend is $40 per person or a table of 8 for $300.
