Happy New Year on behalf of the Board of Directors of the Yampa River Botanic Park! I trust this email finds you in good health, enjoying the holiday season, and anticipating a safe and celebratory weekend ahead.

As we bid farewell to 2023, I reflect on the remarkable progress we've achieved, thanks to the dedication and collaborative efforts of the Botanic Park's Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, community partners, members, and generous donors.

Here are some highlights from the past year:

New Entrances Project: The completion of the new entrances has been a game changer, captivating visitors and serving as a picturesque backdrop for countless family photos. They've even been hailed as contenders for the best public art in town.

Online Donation Platform: We established a user-friendly platform on our website for direct online contributions. This improvement streamlines the donation process, allowing supporters to contribute directly to the Yampa River Botanic Park Society, the fundraising and advocacy nonprofit that supports the Park.

Successful Passport Through the Botanic Park Event: This fundraising event not only generated crucial funds for the Park's maintenance, but also stood out as a mosquito-free success.

Garden Enhancements: The Windigo Garden underwent a complete renovation, a new crevice garden was added, additional bulbs were planted in the Bulb Garden, and work commenced on the new Steppe Garden. Our dedicated gardeners have worked tirelessly to create stunning and vibrant landscapes.

Infrastructure Upgrades: The bike rack area along the Core Trail was improved. Now we recognize the need to enhance the other side as well due to its high usage. It's heartening to see so many people biking and visiting the Park.

Enterprise Zone Contribution Project: The Yampa River Botanic Park Society is now recognized by the Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) as an Enterprise Zone Contribution Project. Donations exceeding $250 are eligible for a 25% state tax credit.

Strategic Planning: We are on the verge of finalizing a 3-5 year strategic plan that we will share out with you next month. A sneak peek into our new mission statement reflects our passion: "To cultivate a place of serenity that opens its gates to all, enriches community by bringing people together, and offers the opportunity to connect with and learn about the wonders of nature."

We are immensely proud of the impact our work has on the community and its visitors. The Yampa River Botanic Park has evolved into the #1 free attraction in Steamboat, a testament to the vision of Bob and Audrey Enever. We are honored to steward the Botanic Park into the future.

As we express gratitude for the contributions received in 2023, there's still time to support the Yampa River Botanic Park. We appreciate your ongoing support and look forward to another year of growth and accomplishments.

Wishing you a wonderful start to the New Year!

Warm regards,

Jennifer MacNeil

Executive Director

Please consider a gift to the Yampa River Botanic Park. Thanks to the generosity of our donors we are able to provide the Park to the community, free and open from dawn until dusk. The Park was built on land that was donated by the founders to the City and community. However, no taxpayer dollars fund the organization.
