Known as Andy or “Pops” to most family and friends, Andrew Caneza was a man of faith and family. Over 50 years, Andy established a business that continued to grow into a coast-to-coast operation with facilities in Florida and California serving most of the supermarkets in the United States. The company opened a facility in Miami in 1972 operated under the name of Spice World. The headquarters along with the family moved from New Orleans to Orlando, FL in 1981 consolidating all operations to the Spice World name. Andy continued working with his family in the business until 2018. "Pops" was the epitome of a true family man. He loved spending time with them, traveling with his family, and cheering for his favorite team, the LSU Tigers. He taught his family the true meaning of generosity and always thinking of others. His love of God and family were everything to him.
This is the legacy he left to his family in establishing the Andrew P. Caneza Family Foundation. His family sees their philanthropic work as a continuation of Pops’ memory, serving non-profits, seeking to give back to the community. It is in his memory that the family foundation generously pledged a $1.2 million gift to Cristo Rey Orlando High School.
Leading up to his final days, he said ‘I wish I could have done more to help people in need, my work is not done.’
Please join us in thanking the Caneza Family for their generous contribution to Cristo Rey Orlando – together, we are impacting generations!
