Thank you to all of our students, families, and faculty for making the 2023-24 school year a memorable and successful one. Kaleidoscope Charter School has now completed its 20th year of serving students and families. We have so much to be proud of!

As I begin my 2nd year at Kaleidoscope Charter School, I am not only filled with thanks and appreciation for everyone, but also I am filled with the experiences from the past year that have instilled in me a firm belief that KCS is a great school and that I am so proud to be a part of it.

I spent a lot of time during my first year getting to know students, families, and staff. Having come from the traditional K-12 school system, I had a lot to learn about the charter school world. It has been a great learning experience - - one that I feel has not only broadened my knowledge and understanding of charter schools, but will also benefit KCS. As I work to maintain the great things KCS has to offer we will also look for ways to continually grow and improve.

To start the 2024-25 school year, we are sending out this newsletter as our first edition of many more to come, to keep you abreast of the great things happening at KCS. We will be sending you a monthly newsletter, sharing not only news about important initiatives and updates, but also sharing with you some of the “little things” that make KCS special.

School Calendar information as well as events happening each month, can be found on the KCS website.

The calendar lists the days school is in session as well as days KCS is closed for breaks, teacher workshops, and holidays  Calendar Link

You can subscribe to the KCS Events Calendar so that events will show in your personal Google, iCal, or Outlook calendar  Events Link  Just click “Subscribe” in the upper right corner of this page, and follow the steps.

Transportation information

Transportation information can be found under the “Families” tab on our website Transportation. Please complete the bus form if you would like to add/ change or remove busing.

KCS works with Vision Transportation of Elk River to ensure transportation for our students.

Bus information will be sent out to families the week prior to the start of school through postcards as well as on Infinite Campus for the 2024-25 school year.

Important Upcoming Events at KCS



• KCS Family Picnic - August 15, 5:00-6:30 p.m. - Come out and meet school staff; meet friends and families; enjoy some hotdogs, ice-cream, and treats!
• Open House - August 27, 5:00-7:00 p.m. - Open house is open to all families. Come meet your child’s teacher, complete any required paperwork, get updates on transportation information, breakfast/lunch program, and many more important items to help your student start the school year off on the right foot.
