When we Launched Twin Cairns in July 2021, our goal was to offer a cutting edge, modern job board for the CRM sector that will serve the needs of employers and employees in the 21^st century. To do that, we needed to be not only the most efficient and effective job board, but we also needed the sector to find and use our services. We knew that would take time as the sector adapts to changes carefully and slowly.  

To our surprise, we reached our first milestone in May of 2022 – only 9 months after launched – when Twin Cairns was posting the largest number of jobs in the sector (Fig 1). On March 11, we reached a second milestone – 100,000 job views on our site (Fig 2). This is exciting and we could not have done this without you! Thank you! How do we do that and what’s next?

Engagement with our site is multifaceted and growing. Hundreds subscribe to our Daily Job Digest, where a list of the jobs posted for the day is sent to your inbox. On the site itself, we have almost 500 job views per day, and the number continues to grow (Fig 3).

On average, there are 149 daily active jobs posts on Twin Cairns, and each is viewed – on average – five times per day (Fig 4). Finally, Twin Cairns has over 2,000 subscribers (and growing daily) to our newsletter, with an average 35% opening rate – especially for the Twin Cairns Intelligence Unit Monthly Job Reports. Data from our Job Reports is now featured in both academic and general public publications.

Many archaeologists, both in academia and the CRM sector, are predicting continued and rapid expansion of CRM as government and private infrastructure projects are getting ready to be built. If 2022 was any indication, the number of CRM jobs posted on all CRM Job Boards far exceeds any previous record (Fig 5).

There is a severe shortage of CRM professionals at all levels, but given increases in wages, market forces seem to start filling the gaps. The Twin Cairns Intelligence Unit tracks and report these changes so members of the community – whether employers, managers, or job seekers – can make informed decisions about competitive jobs and prevailing wages.
