Celebrate the Anniversary of La Laguna Playground at

Play Day on May 18

The Laguna de San Gabriel playground, constructed in 1965 by artist Benjamin Dominguez, stands as a testament to the imaginative design of the last untouched land of Vincent Lugo Park. To celebrate its anniversary, San Gabriel and the Friends of La Laguna are inviting families and visitors to a day of family fun festivities on Saturday, May 18 at Vincent Lugo Park, 300 West Wells Street. The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include a special film showing at 8 p.m.

The event promises a variety of fun games and entertainment. Tropic Truck will be on hand with delicious food and refreshments available for purchase.

Don't miss the special film showing later that day at 8 p.m. Meet us back at the La Laguna Playground, nestled among the whimsical sea snail and whale slide, for a screening of "Lu Over the Wall," a captivating animated mermaid tale presented by Livonian Cinema. The film, in Japanese, will offer English translation through 42 headsets, with English subtitles also provided.
