Dear Friends and
Members,
In 1971, August
26th was designated by Congress as Women's Equality Day. This
date was selected to commemorate the passage of the 19th Amendment
to the Constitution, which in 1920 granted women the right to
vote.
Women today not only have the right to
vote, but we've made significant advances in the world of work, in
education, in business, and in many other arenas. Still, Women's Equality Day offers
the chance for a temperature check. Are we there yet? How close
have we come to full equality? And what steps can we take now to
come closer?
The NH Women's Lobby has spent the past 30 years fighting
for equality for women in New Hampshire. This
year, what will you do to celebrate Women's Equality
Day?
How about joining the NH Women's
Lobby?
Your contribution will allow us to continue
being your voice at the statehouse, helping to pass progressive
policy reforms that will directly benefit and enrich your life as a
woman in New Hampshire. So celebrate with the women of the NH
Women's Lobby and become a
member today!
Sincerely,
Nikki Murphy, LICSW
Executive Director
