Photo of the Month
We made quite a splash in April with a video announcing the addition of 2% milk to our milk lineup. Herd manager Blake Hansen starred in the video that played on an iconic scene from the '80s hit film "Flashdance."

It caught the attention of Hansen's Dairy fans and The Des Moines Register, which wrote a story on our efforts to playfully showcase the nutritional superpowers of milk. The video tagline reads "2% fat, 98% sexy, 100% percent good for you."

Kudos to #FarmerBlake, as he's known on social media, for his superior dance moves (powered by milk, of course!). Stay tuned to our Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter channels for more fun videos!

Hansen's Dairy website gets new look
We're excited to announce the launch of our redesigned website! User friendly and easy to navigate, it's where you'll find everything you want know about our farm's history, our products, our stores and more.

You can even book a farm tour and read our blog posts there. Looking for a previously published Hansen's Moosletter? You can find it there, too.

Gorgeous photos from our farm, like the herd at sunset on our home page, are prominent throughout the new design. We'd like to think it feels like a cozy sweater on a cool day. We encourage you to snuggle up and explore our freshly revamped website. Let us know what you think!
Honoring veterans on Memorial Day
This Memorial Day we are honoring those who serve.

On Monday, May 29, veterans can get a free single scoop of ice cream or a small soft-serve ice cream in a sugar/cake cone or dish at either our Cedar Falls or Waterloo stores.

It’s our small gesture of appreciation for your extraordinary service!
Meet the Moo Crew
Our featured Moo Crew member this month is Herd Manager Blake Hansen, aka #FarmerBlake.

While he has starred in some fun farm videos on social media, he says the real fun is in his day-to-day passion for dairy farming.

More silly videos featuring Blake are sure to follow, but we thought we'd offer up a proper video introducing the farmer behind the internet fame. 😂 Enjoy!
Customer of the Month
Our May Customer of the Month, Kristen Laird, was introduced to Hansen's milk while dating her now-husband John.

Thirteen years later, the Laird family are huge fans of our milk, ice cream and cheese curds.

Avid campers, the Lairds take Hansen's Dairy products on every trip, Kristen says.

"This summer our biggest and farthest trip will be to Yellowstone, and we will be sure to take enough with us for that trip as well."

Supporting local business is important to the Laird family.

"The products speak for themselves in quality and taste. They're produced in healthier ways to help preserve those qualities in them," Kristen says. "We are in the habit of supporting local businesses over a big box company when we can."

Thanks, Kristen! Customers of the Month receive a $5 gift certificate to use at our stores and two free hands-on tour passes to the farm (a $40 value). You could be chosen by filling out an entry form at our stores or through your comments on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages.
Cows of the Month
Normally we choose just one Cow of the Month, but these two go together like baseball and apple pie.

Javier and Baez were born the first week of May in 2018 and are named after Major League Baseball infielder Javier Baez.

Herd Manager Blake says these ladies are shaping up to be as great in the herd as their namesake is on the field. Way to go, ladies! Play ball!
