LEAP Alumni Continue to Thrive

No matter how proud we are of our former LEAP students, they always seem to make us prouder!  Congratulations to:

Lenny Tejeda, a 2023 graduate of Denison University, was recently accepted into the 2024 Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Law Catalyst Program. He began his full-time career last summer as a private wealth paralegal assistant at Holland & Knight LLP in Boston and was a Judge Reginald Lindsay Fellow in Boston. Lenny attended LEAP for six years and emceed LEAP’s 2023 Great Expectations fundraiser.

Sia-Linda Lebbie was recently promoted to the role of Global Manager at Google in direct-to-consumer digital marketing within devices and services. She is a magna cum laude Communications grad of the University of Pennsylvania, with minors in Psychology and Hispanic Studies. Sia-Linda has been a part of LEAP since middle school and is also a proud donor and past LEAP employee and volunteer career mentor.

Meet LEAP'S Volunteer and Partnerships Coordinator

We would like to introduce you to Caitlynn Almy, who was recently promoted to Volunteer & Partnerships Coordinator. Caitlynn joined the LEAP team in 2022 as our Middle School Career Services Coordinator, where she created, implemented, and facilitated curriculum for our middle school students. Caitlynn also coordinated LEAP’s Summer Work Program for 9th and 10th graders. Prior to LEAP, Caitlynn was a senior regional specialist with the American Red Cross, and she actively manages a platoon of soldiers in her officer role with the Army National Guard.

Partners and volunteers, like mentors, are critical to our programs and the success of our students, so we are thrilled to have Caitlynn on board in this vital role.

Interested in partnering or volunteering? Please contact Caitlynn to discuss or complete this form.

Introducing the Workforce of Tomorrow to Renewable Energy

Thanks to a generous grant from the New England Biolabs Foundation and a partnership with Salem Alliance for the Environment (SAFE), LEAP will offer an exciting project-based learning experience in wind energy for our middle schoolers this summer. Students will meet engineers and trades people already working in this important field.

SAFE will connect LEAP staff and students to professionals in this field as well as other educational resources, including teacher training for educators in Salem and Lynn, and information on job opportunities in the field.
