GAELYNN LEA PERFORMS FOR

DISABILITY UNITE FESTIVAL

IN NYC ON SUNDAY, JULY 17!

Hello, Friends!

Happy Disability Pride Month... I hope you are doing well, staying safe, and enjoying summer so far! This is Gaelynn Lea and I owe you a much more in-depth newsletter recapping Macbeth, a book update, and life in general... I haven't written since January!

But tonight I am already heading to bed because I want to be FRESH tomorrow for Disability Unite Festival! This is an amazing one-day event at the Central Park Bandshell in NYC featuring some excellent disabled performers: Blessing Offor, Lachi, Wheelchair Sports Camp, and Yours Truly!

The best thing is that if you can't attend it live, you can watch it online! Below are the details... I really hope you can tune in for this celebration of Disability Pride! And I promise to write more soon.

Love,

Gaelynn Lea

At the top of the flyer, there is a graphic of a clamshell-shaped stage with stairs extending out on either side. Flowing from both sides of the stage are drawings representing different art forms: musical notes, theatre masks, a camera, headphones, paint brushes, trumpets and ballet slippers. The main text on this flyer reads: “Disability Unite Festival 2022 / "A Future Of Inclusion" / “Sunday, July 17th 12PM - 4PM (EST) / In-person: Naumburg Bandshell, Central Park / Virtual: www.DisabilityUnite.org / In-Person Performing Artists: Blessing Offor, Lachi, Gaelynn Lea, Wheelchair Sports Camp / Captioning, Sign Language, Audio Description, Plain Language / Artwork by Lisandro Neris” Along the bottom of the flyer are the green outlines of trees in front of a city skyline. A line of people of different ages, disabilities and nationalities are facing the skyline. Sponsor logos are at the bottom: M&T Bank, John H. Hart Foundation, National Endowment for the Arts, NY Council on the Arts.
