Our Mission: To proclaim Christ through faith, hope and love.
Dear Cathedral of Hope Family,
As we prepare to conclude our sermon series, "Echoes of Eden," based on Cole Arthur Riley's This Here Flesh, I am filled with gratitude for the rich and meaningful discussions we've shared. Together, we've delved into what it means to create heaven on earth, to nurture our faith, and to foster a community that is grounded in faith, hope, and love.
This Sunday, we have the privilege of welcoming Rev. Dr. George Mason to our pulpit. Rev. Dr. Mason, the former Senior Minister of Wilshire Baptist Church, is a gifted preacher and a respected community leader. His wisdom and experience promise to bring us profound insights as we wrap up our series. We are thrilled to have him join us, and I encourage you to attend and invite others who might benefit from this inspiring message.
On this 4th of July, our office is closed in observance of the holiday. This day offers us a moment to reflect on the values of freedom, justice, and unity that our nation aspires to embody. Let us remember that our true independence comes not only from our nation's history but from our ability to love and support one another in the spirit of Christ. May this holiday be a time of peace, reflection, and gratitude for the progress we have made and a reminder of the work still to be done in the pursuit of justice and equality for all.
Thank you for being part of this vibrant and inclusive community. Your presence and participation make Cathedral of Hope a beacon of hope and love in our world.
See you Sunday!

Prayer Request for

Cathedral of Hope Prayer Call

Prayer Call July 6 @10am (CST)

Biblical scriptures abound with the call to prayer: to pray unceasingly, to lift up prayers of intercession for others, to pray if we would draw near to God. Please join Coat of Colours members on our zoom prayer call on the first and third Saturdays of each month at 10am.

A speaker will share a brief word of encouragement, a poem, commentary on a spiritual text, or personal witness and then we turn our hearts to prayer for requests sent in or from the group.

To join us live on the prayer call, click this ZOOM link.

If you have any prayer requests or needs, please let us know so we can pray with you and for you.

What do we mean when we say "Progressive Christianity?" What does it look like for us to be "progressive Christians" at our beloved Cathedral of Hope? For many of us, we arrive at the Cathedral of Hope from varied religious and spiritual backgrounds including more conservative and evangelical backgrounds. This class, Let’s Talk About Progressive Christianity, is a foundational look at some of the basic tenets that are widely accepted by progressive Christians. We will explore topics such as the Bible, other religions, Jesus, love and compassion, justice and peace, questioning, inclusivity, and advocacy. And please know this, progressive Christians practice these ideas much differently than you may be accustomed to. This class is designed for those who are new to Cathedral of Hope or those who may want to deepen their spiritual journey by examining what it means to truly be a progressive Christian.
