2023 Community Impact

Clothes To Kids of Denver shoppers took home 12,807 school wardrobes in 2023, making it our busiest year ever! That's almost 266,000 pieces of clothing! An impressive 92% of kids left with a full 21-piece wardrobe.

Our shoppers also took home 42,991 pounds of "extras" including school supplies, books, toys, accessories and winter gear.

Thank you to our incredible donors, volunteers and staff for helping us reach so many deserving students!

Thank You Volunteers!

Before our holiday break, we took some time to celebrate the hard work of our stellar crew of volunteers. We have more than 500 volunteers on our roster and, without their hundreds of hours of work each month, we simply could not fulfill our mission.

Their sorting, hanging, folding, restocking, cleaning, laundering, mending, deal-finding, fundraising and personal shopping are what keep our operation running smoothly.

Special thanks to our friends at Jimmy John's for donating sandwiches for all three days of celebrations!

Highlights from the Holidays

These wonderful ladies from HCA Healthcare brought in a collection of new underwear and socks that totaled 500 pairs! Their delivery was perfectly timed since our supply of colorful socks and underwear was dwindling at the end of the year.

Kathy Frank is one of our thrifty "deal-finder" volunteers. She always stretches our dollars far and delivers everything with a smile, but this batch of coats was donated by her and her husband! Thank you for your generosity!

Erin Martin is a brand new volunteer who brought in more than 100 pairs of shoes that she collected from her neighborhood. This donation is especially amazing considering she delivered them on her second day volunteering with us! We are lucky to have her on our team.

These nice gentlemen from BRAVE Church in Englewood recently delivered more than 200 coats collected by their congregation. They are a huge help to our shoppers during these cold months. Thank you for your kindness!

Our good friend Wendy Allen delivered her annual carload of new clothing along with some gift cards donated by the Denver Botanic Gardens Guild Members at their recent meeting. There were pants, coats, shirts and shoes - all brand new. Thank you for helping our shoppers stay warm and stylish!

Cathy Baumgartner is an amazing volunteer, and she has brought in a load of new toys for the past three years in a row. It’s so nice to be able to offer some extra special ‘extras’ during the holiday season!

Several of our fabulous long-time volunteers including Peggy Walling, Patty Estes, Marlene Brubaker, Karli Cunningham, Stacy Lorenzen and Karen Scott (clockwise from top left) helped us complete our annual inventory count in just one day. We are truly lucky to have such an experienced and speedy crew!

Our friends at the Windsor Gardens Optimist Club collected more than 500 pairs of new socks for our shoppers. They have held several collections for us over the years and have helped countless students through their many community partnerships. We are incredibly grateful for their continuing support of CTKD!

Our friends at fellow nonprofit I Support the Girls - Denver shared 7,200 pairs of new Victoria's Secret underwear with us! They have connected us with so many wonderful donations over the years. We are very fortunate to have their support.

Thank you to the team at Wellness Rhythms Chiropractic for this wonderful donation of winter coats and clothing. The items they collected are especially helpful to the many students we are serving who are experiencing their very first winter weather in Colorado.
