It's been a busy week in Washington! Here are the highlights:
The ability of first responders to quickly and securely share information during a wildfire is critical and can make the difference between life or death.

After hearing directly from first responders about the need to improve communications and information sharing at my October Wildfire Roundtable, I’m proud to work to do just that by introducing the bipartisan NIST Wildland Fire Communications and Information Dissemination Act with Rep. Melanie Stansbury (NM-01).

I will keep working to create responsible policies to support those on the front lines of preventing, detecting and containing wildfires and keeping civilians safe.
Small businesses are hurting from rising prices and supply chain backlogs and are struggling to plan amid uncertain future costs.

We need to support our small business owners, not make life harder for them. I'm fighting back against big-government policies and reckless spending.
Our mission to save lives in Afghanistan is not over.

I introduced the RESCUES Act to bring transparency and accountability to the Biden administration's Afghanistan evacuations. Americans deserve to know how taxpayer dollars are being spent.

The RESCUES Act will ensure the State Department discloses:
  • taxpayer money spent and if fees were paid to the Taliban
  • number of Americans and allies evacuated and who are still seeking evacuation
  • efforts to prevent wasteful spending

I’m grateful to the NGOs, veterans and Congressional offices who have stepped up where Biden Administration was unprepared. We must continue to support their efforts and ensure taxpayer dollars are used wisely.
Team Young is glad to see family-owned business grow and thrive in CA-39! Great to join Family Floors to celebrate the grand opening of their third location in Southern California.
Americans are struggling to make ends meet as the 40-year high inflation raises prices of everyday goods. Policies from Congress should reverse these trends, not add to them.

That’s why I introduced the Inflation Prevention Act this week with Rep. Mike Garcia (CA-25) to help combat inflationary spending by preventing any measures from passing the House that are estimated to increase inflation until the year-over-year inflation rate drops below 4.5 percent.
Team Young enjoyed joining Cal State Fullerton graduate Rashawn Underdue for the grand opening of his Farmers Insurance Agency in Placentia and attending the grand opening of Ark Home Loans in Brea!

I will always work hard to encourage our local entrepreneurs.
Rising cargo thefts will undoubtedly worsen our supply chain crisis that continues to impact communities in Southern California and across the U.S.

Those involved must be held accountable. This week, I joined Congresswoman Steel (CA-48) and colleagues in a letter calling on Attorney General Garland to enforce the law and protect interstate commerce.
Team Young enjoyed talking with students about internships available in my CA-39 and Washington D.C. office at the Chino Valley Chamber of Commerce Job Expo. I'm grateful to the Expo organizers for hosting this great event for job seekers in our community!
I came to Congress to bring commonsense to Washington and am proud that my team and I got 12 bills out of the House and 4 signed into law in my first year.

I will keep working through the partisan gridlock to deliver results, sticking to my conservative principles and fighting back against big government, big spending policies.
This week our nation came together to honor the lasting legacy of Dr. King.

May we embody his teachings each day as we continue to work toward a more perfect union by judging others on the content of the character, not the color of their skin, and spreading light and love.
I am committed to helping California's 39th District get through the COVID-19 pandemic better than before. As we reopen our communities and get people safely back to work, I will do all that I can to make sure my constituents receive the relief you deserve.
