Welcome to Catch Up With Young Kim, my weekly e-newsletter to get you the latest on my work for you in Congress.

My team and I are here to serve you. If you ever need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office. I also encourage you to receive real-time updates on my work for you in Congress by following me on FacebookTwitterYoutube and Instagram

This week, I was back home in CA-39 working hard for you. Here are the highlights:
This Veterans Day I was proud to recognize the more than 27,000 military veterans I represent across California’s 39th District and many more across the nation, as well as their families. Their service and sacrifice are why we are able to live our everyday lives and enjoy the freedoms we hold dear.

I attended beautiful tributes in Chino Hills, Walnut, Diamond Bar, Buena Park, Fullerton and Anaheim Hills. Thank you to our communities across CA-39 who came together to honor veterans and active duty service members. If you missed my special edition Veterans Day newsletter, read it here.
Many small businesses cannot overcome a cyberattack. With nearly 20k businesses in CA closing permanently last year alone, one cyberattack is one too many.

While we do not always agree on everything, I’m glad the House could come together last week to unanimously pass my bill with Rep. Jason Crow to support small businesses by boosting cybersecurity at the Small Business Administration.
As your Representative, it’s my top priority to listen to your concerns so I can fight for you in Congress. I’m hosting a telephone town hall to update you on my work and hear from you. The phone number you provide on the RSVP page below will receive a call on Wednesday, November 17 at 6:00 p.m. PT. Please sign up by 11 a.m. on Wednesday to ensure you receive a call. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
Happy 100th Birthday to WWII veteran James Bradley from Yorba Linda! James stormed the Normandy beaches on DDay and has continued to serve our country and our CA-39 community ever since. I'm glad Team Young could join in celebrating this great American hero on his very special day!
I enjoyed meeting with the veteran-led teams at Dymek's Freedom Plumbing and Veteran Air in Anaheim!

As a member of the House Small Business Committee and Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Workforce Development, I am committed to supporting small businesses and ensuring our entrepreneurs have the resources they need to succeed.
Former Buena Park Mayor and City Council Member Jim Dow was a pillar of our Buena Park community for decades and was the embodiment of the American Dream. My team was proud to honor him at the Memorial Grove Ceremony. I know this tree will preserve his presence in our community.
The entrepreneurial spirit is alive and well in CA-39! My team was overjoyed to attend the grand openings of Brooklyn Pizza in Fullerton and J Med Supply in Buena Park.

Brooklyn Pizza is the embodiment of the American Dream, run by an immigrant family from India who has now opened three restaurants. J Med Supply provided great services for the community throughout COVID-19 and is now expanding their presence. Welcome!
Learning to read can change the course of a child's life and help unlock endless opportunities.

Thank you to the Placentia Library Trustee and Assistant Director for showing me around! The Placentia Library has undergone several renovations and is now up to date with curbside pickup of books, a Hangar DIY Lab, wireless printing, a local history room, a station for taking passports photos, proctoring of tests, and a meeting room that can be rented. I enjoyed visiting and am grateful for the resources and services our libraries provide for local residents.
Boston Celtics player Enes Kanter has been a courageous voice on global human rights and calling out corporate hypocrisy. I enjoyed speaking with him this week and will keep working on policies on the House Foreign Affairs Committee to Stop the Uyghur Genocide, support Taiwan and stand with Hong Kong.
Rising prices continue to hurt workers, families and businesses as we approach the holiday season. Gas prices in Southern California communities I represent are around $4.50 per gallon, the highest in a decade.

Relying on other countries to fuel our cars and heat our homes is bad for our nation's economy and national security. Through an all-of-the-above energy approach focused on U.S. innovation, we can reduce emissions, boost our domestic supply chains and maintain our security.

I am fighting for responsible, pro-market solutions on the Conservative Climate Caucus.

Securing our border and allowing for fair, legal immigration are bipartisan priorities. Unfortunately, the current crisis at our Southern border not only hurts Americans but also undermines legal immigrants who have been waiting their turn. I was glad to discuss a path forward with Washington Examiner.
I am committed to helping California's 39th District get through the COVID-19 pandemic better than before. As we reopen our communities and get people safely back to work, I will do all that I can to make sure my constituents receive the relief you deserve.
