Welcome to Catch Up With Young Kim, my weekly e-newsletter to get you the latest on my work for you in Congress.

My team and I are here to serve you. If you ever need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office. I also encourage you to receive real-time updates on my work for you in Congress by following me on FacebookTwitterYoutube and Instagram

This week, I was in Congress working hard for you. Here are the highlights:
Building an Orange County veterans cemetery is the least we can do to support our veterans, troops and their families. This has been an issue close to my heart and a priority of mine since my time in the State Assembly. I'm thrilled this project is underway!
Ship bottlenecks at the San Pedro Port Complex in Southern California continue to cause supply chain disruptions that are raising prices for workers, families and small businesses, along with hurting U.S. manufacturers and others exporting goods overseas. We must take concrete steps to update our shipping laws.

This week, I was proud to support House passage of the bipartisan Ocean Shipping Reform Act to promote fair, reciprocal trade practices which will help address our supply chain backlog and support small businesses, farmers and manufacturers.
Our CA-39 communities are getting into the holiday spirit! Team Young was pleased to attend festive events in Chino Hills, Yorba Linda and Buena Park. I'm grateful to all the organizers, attendees and clean-up crews for spreading cheer in our communities.
The Crime Victims Monument in Orange County marks a place for us to gather and remember the lives that were lost and forever altered by crime, and to inspire us in our pursuit of justice. Thank you to the OC District Attorney's office, OCDA Honor Guard, Sheriff Don Barnes and our local faith leaders for coming together to ensure we never forget victims and their families.
The House passed the NASA Enhanced Use Leasing Extension Act this week to allow NASA to continue leasing any excess space to private sector companies and other innovators to support nationwide missions in space.

I was proud to help work on this bill and will continue to work on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee to support nearby space innovators in Southern California and the aerospace manufacturers who create the tools for the U.S. to reach new heights.
A premature end-of-war declaration for the Korean War without commitment from North Korea to denuclearize undermines the security of the U.S., South Korea and our allies.

This week, I led a letter alongside House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Michael McCaul (TX-10) and 33 colleagues to U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and U.S. Special Representative to North Korea Sung Yong Kim in strong opposition to calls for an end-of-war declaration for the Korean War.

Maintaining peace requires both sides to actively work to keep it. Kim Jong-un has proven time and time again to be an unreliable negotiator, and we must realize we’re dealing with a regime that cannot be trusted.
Team Young was pleased to attend the grand opening of the first Program of All-Inclusive Care for Elderly (PACE) facility in Orange County. This facility provides comprehensive preventative health programs along with social and mental wellness services for low income seniors in our community. I'm grateful to have them in Anaheim.
The Lawrence de Graaf Center for Oral and Public History at California State University, Fullerton's Pollak Library is a reality after over a decade in the making! Team Young joined our CSUF community at the ribbon cutting. I'm looking forward to seeing this center connect our community for future generations.
On Thursday, the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed the Sudan Democracy Act out of committee, a bipartisan bill I led with Rep. Dean Phillips (MN-12) to impose targeted sanctions against individuals and entities who actively undermine civilian-led democracy in Sudan.

I’m proud to help take concrete steps to show support for the brave people of Sudan as they peacefully protest for democracy and human rights.
I am committed to helping California's 39th District get through the COVID-19 pandemic better than before. As we reopen our communities and get people safely back to work, I will do all that I can to make sure my constituents receive the relief you deserve.
