Welcome to Catch Up With Young Kim, my weekly e-newsletter to get you the latest on my work for you in Congress.

My team and I are here to serve you. If you ever need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office. I also encourage you to receive real-time updates on my work for you in Congress by following me on FacebookTwitterYoutube and Instagram.
With over 100 drug overdoses and 132 suicides committed every single day, it’s clear we have reached a mental health crisis in our communities.

This week, the House passed the Restoring Hope for Mental Health and Well-Being Act to provide meaningful, targeted mental health resources.

I’m proud that two bills I worked on, the Into the Light for Maternal Mental Health Act to support maternal mental health and the Garrett Lee Smith Memorial Act to provide suicide prevention resources, were included. I will always fight for the public health and wellbeing of Southern California communities.
Dr. Anita Bhavnani is dedicated to creating beautiful, long-lasting smiles for her patients at B Orthodontics.

Team Young enjoyed celebrating the grand re-opening of her small business in Yorba Linda! As a member of the Small Business Committee, I'll always work hard to support our local entrepreneurs.
On Thursday, I rose to honor the life of Jesus Rodriguez, a La Habra resident, Korean War veteran and Silver Star recipient who recently passed after a hard-fought battle against cancer.

Jesus dedicated a great deal of time to speaking with and uplifting local veteran groups, ROTC units and our Korean community. Although he is no longer with us, I know his story and his sacrifice will live on and inspire others.
I enjoyed touring and catching up with residents of the St Elizabeth Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center facility in Fullerton.

Like many industries, they have felt the impacts of labor shortages and are working hard to keep up operations. Thank you for all that you do for our community!
I'm so excited to see local artwork in our nation's capital on my way to vote!

"A Soulful Night Market" by Orange County School of the Arts Freshman Jennifer Kim from La Habra is now on display for visitors.
Great to meet with the LA Chamber of Commerce to discuss their priorities and the newly formed Women’s Council, which advocates for increased access to the workforce and wealth creation for women in and around LA County.

As a member of the Small Business Committee, I will always foster policies that encourage and enable local businesses to succeed. I'm proud to lead bills such as the SCORE for Small Business Act and Golden-preneurship Act to help create jobs.
Otto Warmbier was horrifically tortured and killed by the North Korean regime five years ago. Although Otto is no longer with us, his wonderful family carries on his legacy every day with their advocacy and strength.

As one of the first Korean American women to serve in Congress and a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, I'll always be a loud voice for global human rights and hold violators accountable. We remember and honor Otto always.
I joined neighbors and friends of all walks of faith to break ground on Orange County's second Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple and celebrate this moment as we welcome a new house of worship to our Yorba Linda community.
Each year the La Habra Chamber honors local leaders for their exceptional achievements and community service. Team Young was grateful to celebrate these incredible awardees and welcome the new Board of Directors and incoming Chair for 2022-2023.

Enes Kanter Freedom has been a voice of reason for global human rights and calling out corporate hypocrisy.

I’m proud to stand tall in support of freedom and will keep working on the House Foreign Affairs Committee to stop the Uyghur genocide, support Taiwan and stand with Hong Kong.
