It's been a busy week! Here are the highlights:
Thank you to all who joined our first Veterans Resource Fair in Yorba Linda and the local organizations who work every day to provide resources for our veterans.

I was honored to thank and wish an overdue "welcome home" to 40 Vietnam era veterans and their families at our Veterans Resource Fair with Supervisor Don Wagner.

Our words are never enough to express our gratitude for those who have served. We are grateful.
In 2021, the SCORE Mentors Orange County chapter helped to start 269 new businesses and create nearly 4,000 jobs.

This program has been a lifeline for our small businesses, providing vital mentoring and education programs for entrepreneurs working hard to adapt to challenges from lockdowns to rising costs.

I'm proud that the bipartisan bill I introduced with Congresswoman Angie Craig passed the House and will ensure SCORE can continue uplifting Americans.
Chief Sianez is truly a local hero. He began his law enforcement career with Buena Park PD at the age of 21 and has risen through the ranks over the past 41 years, serving in various specialized assignments and leadership positions.

Chief Sianez lives out his commitment to community policing each and every day as co-founder of the North Orange County Public Safety Task Force and a frequent volunteer.

I am incredibly grateful for his service, and I wish him a wonderful retirement!
U.S. support for Taiwan is more important than ever as we see Chinese government officials eye Taiwan amid the Russian Federation’s unprovoked war against a free and sovereign Ukraine. We must send a united message to Taiwan that we value their independence on the world stage.

I’m glad that this week, the House passed the Senate version of my bill to restore Taiwan’s observer status in the World Health Organization which was revoked by the CCP in 2017. A threat to freedom anywhere is a threat to freedom everywhere, and I will continue to stand firmly against China.
So fun to join this year's Love Brea event as we come together again in person to help make our Brea community a better place. Thank you to all the awesome volunteers!
Thank you to Euroline Steel Windows and Doors in Yorba Linda for giving me a tour of the facility and the chance to learn more about your operations. I appreciate all you do to keep our communities running!
Over one in every five children around the world suffers from malnutrition, which endangers livelihoods and costs the global economy up to $3.5 trillion each year.

I'm proud to help lead the Global Malnutrition Prevention and Treatment Act of 2021 to help USAID better target evidence nutrition interventions to ensure our resources are used effectively and go to those who need them most.
I joined the Peaceful Unification Advisory Committee Orange San Diego Chapter and Korea Times over the weekend to remember the 30th anniversary of the LA Riots, honor this tragic history and recommit to doing our part to promote unity, hope and harmony across our communities.
The App Challenge gives students of all backgrounds and from communities across the nation the opportunity to move from passive consumers of technology to active creators of technology.

I'm proud to have co-chaired the 2021 The Congressional App Challenge with Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton as we saw the largest competition to date, with over 7,174 students creating 2,101 full-functioning apps across 340 congressional districts.

I am particularly proud of Diya Sreedhar from Troy High School in Fullerton, the winner of the 2021 App Challenge for my district. Congratulations, Diya!
I joined AM 870 the Morning Answer to discuss rising smash and grab crimes and my Improving Federal Investigations of Organized Retail Crime Act to make sure federal agencies work with state and local law enforcement to keep communities safe.
It was great to catch up with La Habra local business owners and community leaders at the La Habra Chamber of Commerce ConnectUp meeting! Our entrepreneurs provide jobs, strengthen our economy and better our communities across CA-39.

As a member of the Small Business Committee, hearing from our local entrepreneurs is key to my work. Thank you for coming out!
Thank you to the fantastic volunteers who came out in full force for the Love Fullerton event! The spirit of volunteering in our community is needed now more than ever.
Nearly 20k California small businesses closed in 2020 due to the pandemic. Now small business owners are struggling to keep their doors open due to rising costs, supply chain backlogs and labor shortages.

I'm working hard to stop the reckless spending and big-government policies.
"Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.”  –Frederick Douglass

The Placentia Library provides access to education, opportunity and connection for our community. I was proud to recognize their hard work during National Library Week!
