Carybokafloð

A Celebration of Cozy Reading!

What is CARYBOKAFLOÐ?

Inspired by Jolabokafloð, an Icelandic holiday tradition, Carybokafloð [Cary-bo-kah-flawed] celebrates all things cozy, seasonal and book-related.

During November, each Icelandic household receives a catalog of book titles published that year. It’s a time of selecting and giving books to family and friends, attending book readings and listening to author interviews.

From the Friends

Thank You, Lexington!

The Friends of Cary Library want to thank everyone who contributed

to the success of our November Book Sale. We were excited to see so

much enthusiasm from the community and are truly grateful for your

generous and ongoing support.

Holiday Table in Our Book Store!

We also want to invite you to check out the Holiday Gift Idea Table in our Book Store. It’s stocked with a nice selection of holiday items and a mix of other things we think would make great gifts. Prices are low, and every purchase will go to support Cary Library. Come by whenever you’re in the library, as we will add new items almost every day. Happy Holidays and all the best from the Friends of Cary Library!

From the Foundation

It's that time of year... annual appeal season! Your generous funding of the Cary Library Foundation's annual appeal enables the Library to provide the programs and collection materials that really make a difference to our community. Your support makes so many wonderful library programs possible, including: 1) Children practicing reading to Lyric the Library's therapy dog, 2) Teens whetting their appetite for a good book with the Book Tasting Program; and, 3) Folks with difficulty reading regular-size print enjoying a dedicated book club, complemented by a selection of large print books funded by the Foundation.

Could you please join us in supporting the Library's annual appeal? Donations may be made online at carylibraryfoundation.org, or by check sent to Cary Library Foundation, 1874 Massachusetts Avenue, Lexington, MA 02420. Thank you very much for your generous support and happy holidays!

More Resources

Check out our Library of Things collection! You can find lots of Things, from board games to film conversion tools, crafting tools to puzzles, you can even play guitar!

We also have passes to many museums around the area. Take a trip to the Museum of Fine Arts or bring the family to the Boston Children's Museum!
