Becoming A Peer Supporter
consumer holding his peer support certification

ADANC is proud to have worked with Richard (Ricky) Ward over the past few months. His Community Inclusion Specialist (CIS) noticed his determination to set goals and work to achieve them.

Ricky's main goal was to earn his Peer Support Certification. Ricky had earned many certifications in the past, but this was one that he was looking forward to.

Ricky wants to "help people that are like him and go through the same things that he has gone through."

He worked with his CIS to find the right class and came up with a way to pay for it. Ricky has now officially achieved his goal of completing the Peer Support Course!

The consumer’s application was accepted and she is now a college student beginning in the spring! She has been connected with disability services and will be able to utilize some of their services to help her succeed
