SUZUKI MUSIC ENRICHMENT PROGRAM 2023-2024

Attention Parents of First Graders:

Delaware City Schools offers instruction in Suzuki viola, violin, and cello to learners with a desire to develop into successful musicians. The DCS Suzuki program screenings are only available to students in the first grade.

Students must complete a musical aptitude screening which takes about half an hour. During the screening, they will listen to different sounds or tones and compare them.  This year the assessment for first graders will be given on Wednesday, September 13, at 4:15 p.m. in a specified room at Carlisle Elementary School. Delaware City School District orchestra teachers Allison Selley, Abby Wimbiscus Black, and Lauren Gruber will be conducting the screenings.

Families will be notified if their student is selected. Selected students and parents will receive weekly private lessons and are expected to complete regular home practice sessions.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Wimbiscus Black at wimbisab@delawarecityschools.net. Please complete this registration form by Friday, September 8th.
