Exciting Update on Ed's House Expansion!

We're thrilled to share the latest progress on the Ed's House Expansion, a project that officially commenced on February 5th and continues to unfold! Led by Mark from Dalren Limited, our vision is swiftly becoming a reality.

Our focus remains steadfast on enhancing our community service by transforming four "future" suites to accommodate more individuals, thus increasing our capacity from 6 to 10 beds and further enhancing our care provision.

Take a look at the framing for the oxygen tank - the picture shows Matt from Class 1 Inc. working on the control panel for oxygen and suction functions. Each of the ten rooms will be equipped with these vital features to ensure comprehensive care for our residents.

Our expansion is on schedule, and we're excited to share that we're currently working on the installation of oxygen and suction for each suite, and the flooring is being laid, bringing us closer to our goal.

Throughout this 6-8 week renovation period, Dalren Limited has been committed to minimizing disruptions, keeping noise, dust, and dirt to a minimum, ensuring a smooth journey toward the finish line.

If you're interested in supporting this vital project, please contact our donor relations team at 905-885-0466 or by clicking HERE. Your support will help us continue providing exceptional care to those in need.

If you have any questions or would like more information, feel free to drop by, send an email to Sherry Gibson, or call us at 365-400-7580 ext. 150. Stay tuned for further updates as we progress!

Thank you, Northumberland Old Puckers!

On Friday, March 1st, the Northumberland Old Puckers, a remarkable group of players aged 60 and above, came together at the CCC for a memorable mini-tournament with a noble cause. Their mission? To raise over $2000 for Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre in loving memory of Linda Godwin, whose husband, Peter Godwin, is an integral part of the team.

Over 50 seasoned players, aged 60-83, hailing from Cobourg, Port Hope, Grafton, and Peterborough, laced up their skates and hit the ice at the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC).

Together, they skated, laughed, and rallied for a cause close to their hearts. It was a day filled with camaraderie and community spirit, showcasing their skills and their generosity.

Additionally, the hockey players captured in these photos, along with The Peterborough Senior Hockey Elder Skatesmen Division, made heartfelt contributions to the cause.

The puck dropped on a heartwarming scene, with Ahmed Khawja on the left, Bob Pitcher centering the action, and Peter Lorenz on the right.

Ahmed went above and beyond, collecting over $200 from his other hockey group to contribute to this meaningful cause.

Eclipse Day Prime Viewing Locations

On Monday, April 8th, parts of Ontario will experience a total solar eclipse. A Solar eclipse is when the sun’s disk is completely covered by the moon’s shadow for a short period of time.

These activities are a rare, once in a lifetime opportunity. The last total solar eclipse took place in 1925 and the next one is not expected until 2099. The Town of Cobourg is on the path of totality, which is a narrow path approximately 110 – 115km wide where the sun appears to be completely covered, making Cobourg and other communities such as Port Hope, Brighton and Colborne prime locations to view the eclipse.
