Day 1 of Construction Begins

Exciting News! Day 1 of the Ed's House Expansion has officially kicked off, and we're making great progress thanks to your support! Mark and Bobby from Dalren Limited are on-site, turning our vision into reality.

We're transforming four "future" suites to better serve our community with an increased capacity from 6 to 10 beds to allow for additional care, made possible through the funds raised with your generous contributions and the recent contribution from the Government of Ontario.

Dalren Limited is leading the charge, working diligently to minimize noise, dust, and dirt during this 6-8 week renovation journey.

The crew will be hard at work Monday through Friday until the end of March, bringing us closer to our goal of providing exceptional care to those in need.

Have questions or want more info on how you can continue to support this important work? Drop by, send an email to s.gibson@commcare.ca, or call 365-400-7580 ext. 150. Your ongoing support is truly making a difference!

OCSA Meals on Wheels Video

As we gear up for March for Meals 2024, the Ontario Community Support Association (OCSA) reached out to us to assist them in creating a compelling campaign that will help them showcase the impact and power of Meals on Wheels.

Our video showcases the Brighton Meals on Wheels team in action: kitchen staff developing recipes, preparing meals and our staff coordinating meal deliveries with volunteers.

Meals on Wheels is more than a meal. It's interacting with clients, performing security checks and all the heartwarming moments along the way.

We thank the OSCA for showcasing CCN's inspiring story. Please take a moment and click the video.

Volunteer Driver Feature

We have so many amazing volunteers here at Community Care Northumberland (CCN). We sat down with Kerstin Boyd, and wanted to spotlight this incredible driver, who has been a

CCN Volunteer Driver since 2012!

What got you interested in becoming a volunteer driver?

"I had just read an article about a couple having served Community Care Northumberland for over 25 years and thought, ‘Wow, I could do that.!’

I called and was set up to deliver Meals on Wheels for a while. Then I found out that CCN was really short on volunteer drivers and could use the extra help. So here I am today, more than ten years later!"

What did you do before becoming a volunteer with CCN?

"I found myself with more available time as my responsibilities at the boat shop in Campbellford became less involved, prompting me to seek volunteer opportunities within our community."

Where is your home town?

"Warkworth."

Thank you, Campbellford Legion!

Big Thanks to Royal Canadian Legion Branch #103, Campbellford!
