During the first two Saturdays in May, our Caring Hands volunteers will have the opportunity to repair homes and repair hope with Good Works. They are a nonprofit organization which exists to transform lives by repairing homes for low-income families. Repairs are provided at no cost to the homeowners and volunteers do most of the work. Their goal is to see the inhabitants of these homes rise above their level of poverty and experience a rich measure of hope, joy and dignity through being cared for and knowing that their circumstances matter to their community.
Please read the following information about each date before you sign up:
If you sign up to help, you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the event. If you would really like to help and do not have your own transportation, consider organizing a carpool with other Caring Hands volunteers.
May 7th from 8:15 - 4pm
Keith and Rena Walsh will be the adult supervisors from the Caring Hands Advisory Board
Good Works requires that we have 1 adult volunteer per every 4 minors. For this reason, we are encouraging adults to sign up as well.
Volunteers will be given the home's address and then drive over to it
The day will end at 4pm at the home address.
We are strongly suggesting that those with reliable transportation sign up for this event. Those who sign up will be contacted and sent the necessary paperwork to fill out. It is to be filled out and returned to Jareth Schmehl, jareth.schmehl@gvco.org, by 4/19.
Throughout the month of April, Great Valley Caring Hands will be the community partner beneficiary of Locust Lane Craft Brewery. Our big event will be on Wednesday evening April 27th where there will be guest bartenders from GVCO.
The weather on Wednesday and Thursday this week should be great; come out to Locust Lane on Wednesday, grab a beer and a community cup to support GVCO, and dine on a delicious pizza from Mezzaluna Wood Fired Pizza. You can order your pizza in advance at https://mezzaluna-wood-fired-pizza.square.site/....
On Thursday night, you can support GVCO and grab some great food from Foster Ave Carvery. Hope to see many of you at Locust Lane this month!
