The Milton Catholic Collaborative Caring Circle
An innovative way to address the needs of our community, using a
"neighbor to neighbor" approach in helping one another.

Our Mission Statement
As representatives of a caring community, we challenge ourselves to be aware of our connection to one another, and to respond with compassion to the needs and concerns of the members of our community, as we are able.

                         Caring Circle Volunteer Appreciation Night
Greetings!

Thank you for being part of our wonderful circle of caring individuals.  We are writing to invite you to attend our "Appreciation Night" for Caring Circle volunteers on Tuesday, September 18th in the Gathering Space at Saint Agatha Church. It will be an informal social event, including "wine & cheese, coffee & goodies." Please come and mingle with fellow Caring Circle volunteers, and hopefully you will bring along one or two of of your relatives or neighborhood friends to learn more about the Caring Circle and what it is that we do.

Notice our new emphasis on "neighbor helping neighbor?" We want to make sure that everyone who calls our hotline for assistance understands that, while they may be seeking our help today, they may also have the opportunity to help someone else in our community tomorrow! In truth, we will all need help at certain points in our lives, and when our own network of family or friends is unable to provide that help, we want everyone to know that they have a network of caring friends right here at the Caring Circle!

The event will run from 7:00pm to 8:30pm on the 18th. We will spend some time talking talking about our successes, our challenges and how we hope to grow our ministry going forward. More importantly, we would love to hear your ideas on how we can make the Caring Circle a more effective outreach program. As the saying goes, there is "strength in numbers," so we are also seeking new members to provide fresh ideas and expand our base of caring volunteers.

Remember that this is an "Appreciation Night," so we invite you to come, relax and socialize with one another. If you do have ideas that will help us improve our delivery of services, that's great. If you don't, please, just come and listen. If you can bring along one or two others to hear about the Caring Circle, that would be of tremendous value to us.

We are committed to our effort and to our unique approach in delivering much-needed services. To date, we have just scratched the surface of the need that exists in our community. With your help, and the help of your neighbors and friends, we can all make the Caring Circle more widely known and more widely used. That is our shared mission. That is how we answer God's call to take care of one another. Please plan on joining us on the 18th so that you can meet your fellow volunteers face-to-face and enjoy the company of like-minded "people who care!"

We would appreciate your RSVP so that we can better plan for the event. Please respond to this email to let us know if you can attend. As you've already demonstrated in the past, please say "Yes!" once again to the Caring Circle.

Milton Catholic Collaborative Caring Circle

Volunteer Appreciation Night

Date: Tuesday,September 18th

Time: 7:00 P.M. - 8:30 PM

Please R.S.V.P. by 9/14/2012

Please join us for an enjoyable evening including wine and cheese, coffee, tea and goodies.

In addition to the social part of the evening, the Caring Circle Core Team will provide some updates about our experiences thus far.

Guest speaker Susan Doody, who runs a hotline called the

"Irish Senior Connect"

will share some insights with us.

There is one important thing you can do to help the Caring Circle.

Please invite one or two neighbors or friends, not yet involved in the Caring Circle, to come along with you. Additional voices will help us strengthen both our awareness of needs and our response, as we seek to maintain a "Neighbor Helping Neighbor" approach to our outreach efforts in Milton and nearby Quincy neighborhoods.

When you do invite a friend, please let them know that no commitment is necessary. We would just like everyone to come, enjoy, listen, and consider what they might be able to do to help advance our ministry.

Will you be able to come? If so, please let us know if you or the people you are inviting will need a ride. RSVP is very important to our planning for the event, so please let us know as soon as you can.

Thank you so much. We look forward to seeing you there!
