Dear Tuesday's Children's Friends, Families and Supporters,

As Albert Einstein once said, "In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity." I have found this statement to be particularly true over these last couple of weeks. Whether it's the newfound time with family and friends, both in-person or online, or witnessing the incredible bravery of our doctors, nurses and first responders, or just the suddenly extra-friendly neighbors out walking with their children, there are always rays of sunshine and silver linings during dark days. I hope that you have witnessed these moments and that your spirit has been strengthened by all.

Tuesday's Children has also discovered new opportunities during this challenging time. Most notably, we are now delivering some of our typically in-person programs in a digital format. I am very proud of our team for all they have done to make this possible. An abbreviated version of our Creative Insight series is available to anyone who wants to take part each Tuesday from 3:00 - 3:30 PM EST, with a recorded version sent to those registrants whose schedules don't support that time frame. More than 100 people have signed up for this week's webinar. (If you are interested in having your spirits lifted and your mind calmed, please join us by emailing Karen Burris, Karen@tuesdayschildren.org .) Additionally, we have proactively decided to conduct this summer's Project COMMON BOND, our international program for victims of terrorism, via a remote, digital format to allow for maximum participation. Meanwhile, we continue to provide connections in our Mentoring and Career Resource Center programs electronically. Stay tuned for more information on all.

I hope you and your family are staying physically and emotionally healthy as we all take this unprecedented situation one day at a time. We will get through this together.

With gratitude,
Terry
Virtual Creative Insight

On Tuesday, March 24, we launched Virtual Creative Insight, a way to practice social distancing while also building bonds. We are thrilled to have so many join us! These 30-minute classes, which take place every Tuesday at 3:00 PM EST for the next eight weeks, help unlock self-confidence, quiet the mind and relax the soul. It's not too late to join!

Note: All class recordings will be emailed to participants. Participants can get the full experience even if they sign up late or are unable to join live on Tuesdays.

Runner Spotlight: Molly Farrell

Molly Farrell lost her father on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. When she jogs along the water near her Hoboken, NJ home, she can see the World Trade Center off in the distance. When running in Jersey City's Liberty State Park, she passes the Empty Sky Memorial and remembers all of those who lost their lives on that horrific day nearly 19 years ago. When Molly runs, she remembers her father.

To honor his memory, Molly will be running the 2020 TCS NYC Marathon for Team Tuesday's Children. She is following in the footsteps of her older sister, who ran the 2013 NYC Marathon for Tuesday's Children. She is excited to begin training for this 26.2 mile challenge in the summer. While there's no such thing as "easy" when it comes to a marathon, it should be manageable, as she already has the Chicago Marathon, Berlin Marathon and multiple half marathons under her belt.

Molly's involvement with Tuesday's Children extends beyond our endurance events, as she has been an avid participant in our programs throughout the years. From getting career advice at our LinkedIn networking workshop to bonding with other families at New York Giants and Jets games, Molly is proud to be involved with our community.

We are honored to have her as a part of Team Tuesday's Children and look forward to supporting her this November!

If you would like to learn more or get involved with our endurance events, please contact Kristen@tuesdayschildren.org .
Mentor Spotlight: Kate and Liana

Kate, a Tuesday's Children Youth Mentor, and Liana, a Gold Star child, were recently matched in Tuesday's Children's Long-Term Youth Mentoring Program.

Kate is closely connected to the 9/11 community, as her mother is a survivor of the Tuesday, September 11th terrorist attacks. This prompted Kate to become a volunteer docent at the 9/11 Memorial, which eventually helped her find Tuesday's Children. Prior to becoming a Tuesday's Children Youth Mentor, Kate volunteered with our organization at Take Our Children To Work Day New York in both 2018 and 2019, escorting children to career shadow placements.

Like Kate, Liana's family has been actively involved with our organization and her family members frequently participate in our programs. Liana's mother, Alexa, often attends our career workshops and her sister, Analeigh, was recently paired up with her own mentor.

Kate and Liana bonded quickly over their mutual love of math, dining out, animals, art and shopping. It also helps that they can also both relate to being older sisters! Their first outing was for a walk in the park.

While social distancing can be seen as an obstacle for some, the pair is making the best of the situation and meeting via FaceTime so they can enjoy each other's company while keeping safe. They look forward to more outdoor adventures soon!

Family Fun Time during the Current Health Crisis
Parents and children are home from work and school. It may seem as if there are not enough fun ways to pass the time while the world attempts to contain the spread of COVID-19. However, this does not mean we need to let the troubling current situation and isolation get the best of us. Please see below for a variety of resources.

Tuesday's Children remains here for our community. We will get through this together.
