Inaugural conference a success

Care Ring recently hosted its inaugural Black Maternal Health Conference along with Presenting Sponsor Novant Health, Education Sponsor Atrium Health, and Event Partner Mecklenburg County. With a sold-out crowd of over 320 birthing professionals and community advocates, it was an exciting day of connection, learning, and change-making. For full coverage of the event, visit our conference page.

Building a healthier future

Thank you to the many individuals and organizations (see graphic below) who have stepped up in a huge way to help make our dream come true of a bigger home where we can serve more members of the community and in new, innovative ways. If you'd like to contribute to "Building Healthy Futures," visit our capital campaign site.

Tryon Medical Partners day of service

Administrative professionals and executives with Tryon Medical Partners donated some of their time recently with us stuffing goodie bags for The Bridge and our maternal-child health programs. Afterwards, they were given a tour of our Low-Cost Clinic and offices, and received information about our programs.

Hornets award Care Ring $100K

We were so excited to be chosen as the recipient of the Charlotte Hornets 2023-2024 Wellness Grant, to support our Nurse-Family Partnership program operations! Special thanks to Betsy Mack and Andie deCelis for facilitating the award. The Hornets also went above and beyond and hosted our Winter NFP graduation ceremony (more below) at the Spectrum Center. Care Ring awarded gold rating by NAFC

Our Low-Cost Clinic has once again received a gold standards rating from the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics (NAFC) Quality Standards Program. NAFC's mission is building healthy communities for all through quality, equitable, accessible healthcare. The NAFC and its members are dedicated to ensuring that patients receive access to quality healthcare. To quantify and qualify the

care provided by network members, the NAFC formalized a set of Quality Standards for member organizations, which include policies and procedures related to the following areas: Administrative, Clinic/Pharmacy Responsibilities, Credentialing and Privileging Systems, Patient Care, and Risk Management Systems. Thanks to YOUR support, we are able to provide top-notch, gold star care to our patients to the highest of standards!

Showing extra love at

The Bridge

In addition to its three-times-a-week presence in some of our city's under-resourced neighborhoods, The Bridge went above and beyond in February and March with special events to provide extra care to residents. They partnered with Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers to offer dental screenings and connection to treatment. They also provided HIV screenings through Mecklenburg County Public Health, and grocery gifts cards and swag bags.

Hornets host Winter NFP graduation

The Charlotte Hornets Foundation generously hosted our winter NFP graduation at the Spectrum Center along with presenting the program with a $100K check. They set up a stage overlooking the court, provided snacks, cupcakes, gift bags, and an unforgettable experience for the mothers and their babies. Hornets mascot Hugo, player Bryce McGowens, and head of the Foundation James Jordan (brother of Michael Jordan) were on hand for photos and to give each graduate their certificate.

Celebrating our Physicians Reach Out providers!

THANK YOU to Atrium Health One Health OB/GYN at their Prosperity and Reese locations. Prosperity has increased their commitment by 6 fold, and Reese has doubled theirs. As we work together to reduce the maternal mortality and morbidity rate, this access to care will be an important tool in this fight!
